Last Day to Withdraw from a Full-Term Course: Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 4 p.m.
• Students must work with their academic department to complete a Course Change Notice to withdraw from a class.
• Submit the completed form to the Student Records and Financial Services Office (10 Elm Building) for processing.
• Financial Aid will review all course withdrawals to determine any impact on aid eligibility.
• A $20 course withdrawal fee is charged. This fee can be paid online or in person at the Student Records and Financial Services Office.
- To pay online: go to my.AlfredState.edu, select Finances, and use the “Pay Bill” card to pay through Nelnet.
- A late fee will be added if the withdrawal fee is not paid within 30 days.

Women's Self-Defense Course - November 22 & 23
November 22 & November 23 - 9:30am-3:30pm
The R.A.D. course is a 9–12 hour course that includes information and discussion in a lecture format, followed by learning and practicing self-defense techniques.
Students from Alfred State College and Alfred University are invited to participate in this free course and receive in-person training from certified
R.A.D. instructors.
Primary Instructors: Del Rey Honeycutt (Alfred State), Officer Shaun Fields (Alfred University) and Lt. Matthew Whitney (Alfred State). Other certified RAD instructors/officers may be included.
Note: Participants must be willing and able to attend all classes.

ASC Veterans United Club, in partnership with the Center for Civic Leadership, is holding a canned food drive for the month of November to support campus and local communities suffering from food insecurity.

Winter Aid Application Now Available!
Planning to take Winter courses? You can use your Spring refund to help pay for it! Complete the Winter Aid Application form to have your Spring financial aid refund applied toward your Winter Session charges. (Note: This isn’t extra aid—just an early use of your Spring funds.) To be eligible to complete this form, you must have completed a 2025-2026 FAFSA and be registered for Winter and Spring courses.
How to Apply for Winter Aid
Go to my.AlfredState.edu, select Finances, and choose “Complete Financial Aid Tasks” on the Financial Aid & Costs card to access Alfred State Student Forms.
- First-time user? You may need to set up your account before proceeding.
- Once your account is set up, click “Manage Request” at the top of the page and select “Winter Aid Application.”
- Important: The Winter Aid Application will not appear unless you have completed the 2025–2026 FAFSA.

Winter Break Housing
Winter Break Housing
Residence halls will close at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, for the Winter Break. The Residence halls will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026. If you are here for an academic reason and cannot make travel arrangements for the evening of Friday, December 12, please contact your Residence Director to remain on campus that night. However, you must plan travel arrangements for the morning of Saturday, December 13 If you are requesting to stay due to your bus being Sunday, December 14th, please be aware that you may have to relocate to break housing for the night.
Only students who have been approved to stay for the break will be allowed in the residence halls.
All others may be charged with trespassing.
Students will only be approved who:
- Live over 500 miles away (according to your home Banner Address)
- Have a Special Circumstance (ex. You do not have a place to go)
- Working for the college during the break (with Supervisors Approval)
- Athletics commitment during the break (must be on roster submitted from Athletics)
If you wish to apply to stay for the break, please complete the " Winter Break Housing Request" form on eRezLife. To access this form, please sign in to my.alfredstate.edu, select "housing," and then select the "Winter Break Housing Request" form.
Please note, that this form will close on Monday, December 8th.
Nominate a Colleague for the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service
Is there someone on campus who goes above and beyond, not just meeting expectations but consistently setting the standard for excellence? Here's your chance to recognize and celebrate their outstanding contributions! Nominations for the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service are now being accepted for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Submit names and a brief statement of support by electronic form. Contact C.J. Rahr at 3541 for more information.
- Nominees for the award should be individuals who have repeatedly sought self-improvement, campus improvement, and ultimately, the State University’s excellence.
- They should serve as professional role models for the University system in pursuing excellence.
- Candidates must have completed three full-time academic years at the nominating campus within the past five years.
- They must be present on campus and serving in full-time professional service capacities, with over 50% of their assignment in non-teaching services.
- Promotion within the same department doesn’t prevent nomination.
