Student Senate Elections - Sign Up Now

We are excited to announce that applications for Student Senate positions for the 2025-2026 academic year are now open. There are 8 positions available on the board, offering an excellent opportunity for you to engage in university governance and contribute to important campus decisions.

These paid positions, compensated at NYS minimum wage, provide valuable leadership experience and a chance to make a positive impact on our campus community.

Hairdresser on Campus

We have a new hairdresser, Kaylynn Hancock, on campus that will be in the Pioneer Cutz in the Pioneer Center. 

She is starting on Tuesday, March 25. 

Her hours are Monday 12-5pm and Tuesday 9-5pm.

Alfred State Dance Team SPRING SHOWCASE is March 29th!

Alfred State Dance Team presents our SPRING SHOWCASE on Saturday, March 29th in Orvis Auditorium! Seating begins at 6:00 pm and the Performance starts at 6:15 pm. At our Intermission, refreshments will be provided by ACES including cookies, brownies, and sweet iced tea. Purchase tickets at the door. Cash Only! Ticket prices are $3 for students and $7 for general admission. Welcome SPRING with us! See you there!

New Furniture in the Veteran Lounge

The Allegany Dwyer Program, which promotes events for local veterans, has generously purchased new furniture for our Veteran Lounge in EJ Brown.  Alfred State Veterans United Club and the Veteran Advisory Committee would like to welcome our veterans on campus to come by the lounge 11 am on Tuesday,  March 25 enjoy some coffee and help us test out the new seating!

Parking Lots 3,19,20,20A,21 & 22 CLOSING 3/21 at 4pm - University Police

Student parking lots 3 (by SLC), 19, 20, 20A and 22 (near Pioneer Stadium/Orvis) and F/S parking lots 3 (near SLC) & 21 (near Orvis) will be closed Friday March 21st from 4pm through the completion of the Open House on Sunday afternoon. If you are traveling and leaving a vehicle on campus for the weekend please make sure that it is moved out of the closed lots before you leave. Students may park in any other open lots over the weekend, but must be back in the appropriate student parking before Monday morning at 7am. 

Vehicles that remain in closed parking lots or re-enter after the closing time are subject to enforcement up to and including towing at the owners expense.

The Last Day to Drop a Full-Term Class is Friday, March 28, 2025 at 4pm

  • Students must work with their academic department to complete a Course Change Notice to drop a class
  • The completed Course Change Notice should be brought to the Student Records and Financial Services Office for processing.  
  • Financial aid will review all course drops to determine any financial aid implications.   
  • A $20 fee is charged for a course drop. This fee can be paid online at my.AlfredState.edu/finances or in person at the Student Records and Financial Services Office.  A late fee will be added if itโ€™s not paid within 30 days.

Relay For Life hosted by Live to Fight.

Join us as we bring back Relay for Life in partnership with the American Cancer Society, an organization dedicated to funding life-saving cancer research, supporting patients and caregivers, and promoting prevention and awareness initiatives.

Fall 2025 Room Selection for New Students          

Selecting your Room! 

Room selection will begin March 31, 2025 for students whose tuition deposit is received by March 25.  

For those who have not paid their tuition deposit by March 26, room selection will begin on April 14, 2025. 

You will need to have your housing application completed in order to select your room! 

Selecting your room instructions:

  1. Log into your my.alfredstate.edu
  2. Select the โ€œHousingโ€ icon
  3. Return to "Housing Overview" 
  4.  Select the green "Browse Rooms"
  5. You can search for specific rooms by building/section and/or other residence preferences set up. This may take a couple of attempts pending on your preferences and room availability. "No bed available" will appear if there is not a room available through the preferences you set up. 
  6. Click the "bed" icon to select your room of choice. 
  7. Dialog window will be prompted with details of the selected room. 
  8. Click the "choose this bed" button
  9. Review the details of your room reservation. Click on "Assign me now" to confirm your assignment.  Click the "look at other rooms" link to browse other rooms. 

Please note individual room selection will close on August 1, 2025

Selecting your Room! 

Room selection will begin March 24, 2025 and will be released based on completed credit hours as follows: 

Monday, March 24 โ€“ 90+ Credit Hours Completed

Tuesday, March 25- 60+ credit hours completed

Wednesday, March 26- 30+ credit hours completed

Thursday, March 27- 29 or less credit hours completed
