The Office of Residential Services is now taking applications for the Resident Assistant Position for Fall 2024.

RA's get leadership development, mentorship with professionals, soft skill development and a resume builder, opportunities to advance into paid positions, and getting their room paid for!

The application will be open throughout the summer and interviews will be conducted as necessary.

To qualify for the RA position, candidates must have a minimum 2.25 GPA and no current student conduct status.

Interested in Intramurals? Get a jump start on sign-ups by signing up early using IMLeagues! Make an account using your Alfred State Email and choose the sports you want to play in the Fall! Intramurals and IMLeagues is free to all Alfred State students. You can sign up with friends as a team or as an individual (free agent). All team names must be school appropriate.

Intramurals sports are played in a league fashion. Games will be scheduled weekly and at the end of the league, the winning team receives Intramural Champions Shirts!

EVENTS TEAM:  The Events Team provides logistical support for events on campus that are primarily within the student union buildings.  Primary responsibilities include furniture set ups, light technology support, direct communication with event contacts, and working in a team setting.  At times, this team will support other campus initiatives and tasks upon request.  You must be able to lift at least 50lbs and you must be available to work late evenings and weekends. 

 

STUDENT UNION SUPPORT TEAM: The Student Union Team helps to provide support and oversight for our three student union spaces on campus.  Some of the daily responsibilities include hourly building rounds, light cleaning of surfaces, adjusting furniture, notifying team lead of any issues that need to be addressed within the buildings, providing support to events within the building, supporting the faculty and staff within the buildings, and other tasks upon request.  You must be available to work late night and weekend hours to apply.

 

SLC HOPR (Hands on Project Room):  Within the Student Leadership Center we have a Hands On Project Room which is a garage space.  This space is made available to students during open garage hours twice per week. We are looking for a few students that are OSHA Certified to provide support in the garage during open garage hours. Primary responsibilities of this position will include providing access to the space during open hours and during special events upon request.  Special events within the space range from car wash fundraisers, dog wash fundraisers, class projects, etc.  This position will also help track and maintain inventory of tools and supplies within the garage and will submit requests for replacement and replenishment as needed.

2024-2025 Individual Room Selection for New Students

Fall 2024 Room Selection for New Students          

Selecting your Room! 

Room selection will begin April 1, 2024 for students whose tuition deposit is received by March 26.  

For those who have not paid their tuition deposit by March 26, room selection will begin on April 15, 2024. 

You will need to have your housing application completed in order to select your room! 

Selecting your room instructions:

  1. Log into your my.alfredstate.edu
  2. Select the “Housing” icon
  3. Return to "Housing Overview" 
  4.  Select the green "Browse Rooms"
  5. You can search for specific rooms by building/section and/or other residence preferences set up. This may take a couple of attempts pending on your preferences and room availability. "No bed available" will appear if there is not a room available through the preferences you set up. 
  6. Click the "bed" icon to select your room of choice. 
  7. Dialog window will be prompted with details of the selected room. 
  8. Click the "choose this bed" button
  9. Review the details of your room reservation. Click on "Assign me now" to confirm your assignment.  Click the "look at other rooms" link to browse other rooms. 

Please note individual room selection will close on August 1, 2024

Monday, March 25 – 90+ Credit Hours Completed

Tuesday, March 26, 60+ credit hours completed

Wednesday, March 27, 30+ credit hours completed

Thursday, March 28 , 29 or less credit hours completed
