Photography Exhibit

Photography Exhibit at Alfred State College

Members of the Canyon Camera Club of Western New York cordially invite the public to a photography exhibition at the Hinkle Memorial Library of  Alfred State College. The exhibit opens on Monday, January 22, 2024, and is available for viewing in the first-floor gallery during normal College Library hours for most of the spring semester.

A reception, with light refreshments, and greetings by the artists will follow on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 5 PM and all are welcome to attend.

The Canyon Camera Club (CCC) was established in 1948 when seven enthusiastic people got together to talk about photography and share images. The Club did not have a formal name until 1954 when the name “Canyon” was adopted from Letchworth State Park, often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of the East.” The club’s logo depicts the former train trestle (1875-2018) over the Upper Falls in the Park. CCC became one of the 23  member clubs of the Niagara Frontiers Regional Camera Clubs (NFRCC), including western New York, southern Ontario, and Erie, PA. Over the years, NFRCC had a number of goals but one stands out: to “promote the enjoyment of photography.”

Check out the CCC on Facebook for programs and club news. We are a small club and welcome photographers of all ranges of skills to join us. Guests are always welcome to attend our meetings, workshops, and outings. The Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, September- May, either in person in Perry, NY, or via zoom meetings. During summer, we get together for shooting sessions at one of the local outdoor venues.

For more information, or to join us, please contact Club secretary Barbara Kubiak at 585-268-8004 (landline; no texts possible) or Steven Jakobi at 607-281-4939. Thank you.
