Parking Lots Closures for Homecoming
Help us welcome back our alumni and take part in the many festivities planning around Homecoming Family Weekend!
As we prepare these events, please note the following Parking Lot changes:
- Yesterday, the West End (closest to the stadium) of Parking Lot 19/middle lot by stadium closed until Monday (10/21) to allow for a tent to accommodate planned Homecoming activities.
- On Friday (10/18) at 5 p.m., Parking Lots 18,19,20, 20A, and 22 (the lots closest to the stadium) will be closed until events begin on Saturday (10/19) at 9 a.m. Students may move their cars into any other campus lot (not handicapped, fire lane, or no parking zones) for the weekend until Sunday at 8pm.
- On Saturday, the Big Blue Trolley will be circling campus starting at 10 a.m. to transport guests to Pioneer Stadium.
- On Saturday, come enjoy the Pregame Tailgate in Lot 19 and the annual Car Show in Lot 20A starting at 10 a.m.
- Later in the afternoon, enjoy the Activities Carnival (1:30 p.m.) and a Rock Band Performance (2:30 p.m. or right after the football game) in Parking Lot 20.
Again, students moving their vehicles may park in any open lot on campus between 5 p.m. on Friday (10/18) until Sunday night (10/20) at 8 p.m.
Live to Fights Annual Carly 5K is Back!
We are excited to announce that the Live to Fights Annual Carly 5K is returning this year during Homecoming Weekend! Join us on Saturday, October 18th at 9:00 AM, starting at Ten Elm on the Alfred State Campus.

Thanksgiving Break Housing Application
Residence halls will close at 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, for the Thanksgiving Break. The Residence halls will reopen at Noon on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Residential Services is aware that the final bus scheduled to leave Alfred leaves before 10:00 p.m. If you are here for an academic reason and cannot make travel arrangements for the evening of Tuesday, November 26, please contact your Residence Director to remain on campus that night. However, you must plan travel arrangements for the morning of Wednesday, November 27.
Only students who have been approved to stay for the break will be allowed in the residence halls.
All others may be charged with trespassing.
Students will only be approved who:
- Live over 500 miles away (according to your home Banner Address)
- Have a Special Circumstance (ex. You do not have a place to go)
- Working for the college during the break (with Supervisors Approval)
- Athletics commitment during the break (must be on roster submitted from Athletics)
If you wish to apply to stay for the break, please complete the "Break Housing Request" form on eRezLife. To access this form, please sign in to my.alfredstate.edu, select "housing," and then select the "Break Housing Request" form.
Please note, that this form will close on Thursday, November 21.

Megabus is offering non-stop bus services to New York City and Alfred for Thanksgiving break. Dates and times of bus travel are listed below!
To New York City:
Tuesday, November 26, 2024 departing from Orvis Activities Center or West University St at 2:30 p.m.
To Alfred, NY
Sunday, December 1, 2024 departing from Port Authority at 10:15am

Alternate bus options are available through https://trailways.com. Please note that Trailways bus leaves from Hornell, NY and you will need to find transportation to the bus station.
Rochester Airport Shuttle
Depart Alfred Wednesday, November 27 at 6am

Requests for Airport Shuttle must be to the Rochester Airport and students will have to fill out the Online travel request form for both their trips to and from the airport.

The Fall Schedule for the Student Senate General Assembly Meeting is as follows:
- Tuesday, September 10th: Class A Incentive Event - 3 Points
- Tuesday, September 24th: Class B Incentive Event - 1 Point
- Tuesday, October 15th: Class B Incentive Event - 1 Point
- Tuesday, October 29th: Class B Incentive Event - 1 Point

Meetings will take place in a new location - Physical Health & Science Building (PHS) 107

This semester the Student Senate Executive Board will be raffling off three $250 gift cards at the last General Assembly (GA) on 12/3/2024. To receive a ticket for the raffle you must attend a GA meeting throughout the semester. Each attendance will earn you one ticket.
Attendees must show up on time. Late attendance forfeits your ability to receive your raffle ticket.

Are you in need of a job starting this semester that goes through May 2025? Would you be interested in a dynamic position as an AmeriCorps member helping potential students and their families learn about Financial Aid? It would be a great way to build your resume. If so, we may have an opportunity for you through the Financial Aid Work Study Program.
