ERGO COVER CONTEST DEADLINE:  Friday, March 17, 2023

Wondering what to submit?  Full wrap cover (front & back) 17.25" wide by 11.25" high or just the front cover 8.75" wide by 11.25" high, 300 dpi, jpeg.  All entries must fit these specifications for consideration.

 And better yet, there's a prize!  Winner and a runner-up will both get a $100 gift certificate for the ASC Campus Store, and boasting rights for being featured as the author of the cover on the Spring 2023 ERGO publication! 


Road Closure

The Contractors working on the Loop Road Project are moving forward at an extremely quick pace and will be ready for the next area to be improved very soon. On Monday February 27th Loop Road from the Southgate Entrance to Parking Lot #16 will be closed. All other entries will remain open and no parking lots will be closed due to the road closure. Since Loop Road will not be continuous during this phase of infrastructure improvement, you will need to plan your entry and exit to the college accordingly. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to call Jon Nickerson at ext. 4724 and as always please use extreme caution when traveling in the area of the construction.

Pool Closed - Jennifer Enke

The pool will be closed for Open Swim starting Thursday, Feb 23 until sometime next week.  Repairs are being done during this time and a reopening date will be posted once the repairs are completed.

Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving crowned Conference Champions! Jason Doviak

Congratulations to the Women’s Swimming & Diving Team on winning the AMCC Championship!  Alyssa James was named Swimmer of the Meet and Anna Ivery was named Newcomer of the Meet.

Congratulations to the Men’s Swimming & Diving Team on winning both the Empire 8 / Allegany overall Championship and the AMCC Championship!  Westin Perry was named Swimmer of the Meet.  Conor Compton was named Diver of the Meet and Newcomer of the Meet.  Conor qualified for the NCAA Diving Regional held at Ithaca College beginning this Friday. 

Coach Isabel Mariotti was named Coach of the Year for Men’s Swimming & Diving and Co-Coach of the Year for Women’s Swimming & Diving.

Wrestling earns Conference Championship! - Jason Doviak

Congratulations to the Men’s Wrestling Team on winning the AMCC Championship.  Sean Malenfant was named the 2023 AMCC Wrestler of the Year.  Dom Vinci was named Newcomer of the Year.  Head Coach Justin Signorelli was named Coach of the Year.  The team is off to compete at the NCAA Regional hosted by Ithaca College beginning on Friday.

Skills USA Regional Conference – Tuesday, March 7

Hundreds of competitive high school students from across WNY will compete in over forty competitions on the Wellsville and Alfred campuses during Skills USA Day on Tuesday, March 7.  The annual event does result in some inconveniences for faculty and students, but decades of experience indicate it’s all worth it!  Thank you in advance to all of you that help to make the Skills USA Regional Conference a success.

Athletics Week Preview

Alfred State Pioneer Athletics begin the winter season. The Alfred State Baseball team continues their season with another 3-game weekend. This weekend the Pioneers head to Durham, NC. The Alfred State Wrestling teams heads to Ithaca College for a two-day regional meet. And Alfred State First-Year diver Conor Compton heads to the NCAA Diving Regionals in Ithaca for a two-day event, in hopes to qualify for nationals. Student Senate Budget Requests for 2023-24

University Police

This is just a friendly reminder to make sure you lock your dorm room doors when you leave your room and to lock your car after you park.  During the Spring Semester you will see members of Res Life and officers with the University Police Department conducting a program called "Operation Lock Out." The purpose of the program is to remind everyone to lock their doors. If you see us in your Dorm Hall please feel free to stop and chat with us! Remember: Secure your doors to protect what's yours!

New Oasis Hours for the Spring!

Come in and enjoy a peaceful moment at the oasis, pick from several different essential oils, relax in the massage chairs, and grab a cup of tea on your way out. SLC RM 415

The Oasis will be opening for the Spring 2023 semester on Tuesday, January 24th, and will be following the below schedule throughout the semester.

  • Monday (4-8pm), Tuesday (4-8pm), Wednesday (4-7pm), Thursday (4-6pm)

Use of the Oasis space is by appointment (24 hours in advance) and will also be open for walk-in’s/first come, first served basis.

To Schedule an Appointment to use a Massage Chair in the Oasis:

Please keep in mind:

  • Oasis slots are 40 minutes long – 20 minutes for massage and 20 minutes for cleaning/disinfecting.
  • No food, drinks, or vaping allowed.
  • Phones are to be silenced, no loud music, or phone calls.
  • Students who are not observing the Student Code of Conduct, are disruptive to others, or are not complaint with social distancing regulations, will be asked to leave the space.
