Game of Tiara Tickets: Now on Sale

Tickets for Alfred State Drama Clubs Spring Show are now on sale at the Alfred State Book Store.

Thursday at 7:00pm and Saturday at 2:00pm are General Admission
doors open half an hour before show-time.

$5/students and $10 for General Admission

Friday at 7:00pm and Saturday at 7:00pm are Dinner Theater.
Doors open at 5:30pm & Dinner is served at 6:00pm

Tickets are $25 or two meal swipes for Alfred State Students.

Tickets can be purchased at the Alfred State campus store or by calling 607-587-4020. Dinner Theater Tickets must be ordered by April 5th.

Fundraising 101: 10 Steps to Successful Fundraising

The Sisters Zeta Psi Omega and Student Senate are hosting a Fundraising Seminar to help clubs learn tricks and trips to successful fundraising.

Friday, March 31st at 4:00 pm in the SLC Small Event Space.

This event in incentivized for All Student Senate Funded Clubs.

Pioneer Wellness Workshops

Counseling services will be facilitating five wellness workshops over the course of five weeks that are open to all students. The workshops are based on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy curriculum and will cover the following topics on the following dates:  

           

     Emotion Regulation 3/30 @5PM

     Mindfulness/Distress Tolerance 4/13 @5PM

     Relationships with Others/ Boundaries 4/20 @5PM

     Communication 4/27 @5PM

 

 Students will have the option to attend one workshop or the entire series, though it is encouraged to attend all. The first workshop will take place at the Oasis in the SLC Thursday March 30th  at 5PM. 


March 26 Open House - Thank you!

Admissions would like to thank everyone for your efforts with providing a wonderful experience for prospective students during the Sunday, March 26 Open House program. 

We had 183 students, and their families attend. Of those, 60 families visited the Wellsville campus. We are looking forward to our next Open House program on Saturday, April 15.

2023 to 2024 Individual Room Sign-Ups

The Office of College Housing would like to announce that Individual Room Sign-Ups have begun. The Individual Room Sign-up Process is based on accrued credit hours (including this term) as follows:

  • 90+ hours | March 27, 2023
  • 60+ hours | March 28, 2023
  • 30+ hours | March 29, 2023
  • 29 and less | March 30, 2023
  • *New incoming students will have access beginning April 10, 2023

To sign up for housing, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Enter your my.alfredstate.edu
  2. Select the "Sign up for Housing" icon
  3. Log into eRezlife using your Alfred State email credentials
  4. Select "Housing Overview" under Housing
  5. Select your Admit Term "202301",
  6. Select your Class (freshman, senior, etc)
  7. Select your Full/Part time status (should be full time for housing)
  8. Select your Student Type (new freshman or transfer)
  9. Select the "Apply Now" button **if you have not completed your housing profile and housing profile questions you will be re-directed to do so** 
  10. Select your Residence building preference(s). Once completed click "Save and Continue"
  11. Fill out the "Application Form"
  12. Confirm your application and select "Submit Application"
  13. Confirmation page will appear if you have successfully completed this process. 
  14. Return to "Housing Overview" 
  15.  Select the green "Browse Rooms"
  16. You can search for specific rooms by building/section and/or other residence preferences set up. This may take a couple of attempts pending on your preferences and room availability. "No bed available" will appear if there is not a room available through the preferences you set up. 
  17. Click the "bed" icon to select your room of choice. 
  18. Dialog window will be prompted with details of the selected room. 
  19. Click the "choose this bed" button
  20. Review the details of your room reservation. Click on "Assign me now" to confirm your assignment.  Click the "look at other rooms" link to browse other rooms.

Empty plastic bottles needed for mantises - Jessica Hutchison

The Integrated Pest Management class needs your empty plastic bottles to house baby praying mantises. If you have some you would like to donate, please drop them off outside 123A in the Agriculture Building or email Jessica Hutchison (HutchiJM@alfredstate.edu) for pickup. Last Day to Drop a Full-Term Class

The last day to drop a full-term class is Friday, March 31, 2023 at 4 p.m. 

 

  • Students looking to drop a class need to work with their academic department to complete a Course Change Notice
  • The completed Course Change Notice should be brought to the Student Records and Financial Services Office for processing.
  • Students are required to work with a financial aid counselor before dropping a class to review potential impact(s) on their financial aid. 
  • A $20 fee will be charged at the time the class is dropped. This fee can be paid online at my.AlfredState.edu/finances or in person at the Student Records and Financial Services Office.  A late fee will be added if this fee is not paid within 30 days.

Bandwagon is Hiring!

Bandwagon is hiring for the 2023-2024 academic year! We are a student-run content creation organization here at Alfred State. We make videos, produce podcasts, design posters and graphics, cover events, and encourage creativity throughout the student body. Responses are due April 12th and students must have a minimum of a 2.0 cumulative GPA to be eligible for employment in the Bandwagon. New Oasis Hours for the Spring!

Come in and enjoy a peaceful moment at the oasis, pick from several different essential oils, relax in the massage chairs, and grab a cup of tea on your way out. SLC RM 415

The Oasis will be open for the Spring 2023 semester, and will be following the below schedule throughout the semester.

  • Monday (2-8pm), Tuesday (2-8pm), Wednesday (4-7pm), Thursday (2-6pm), Friday (2-4pm)

Use of the Oasis space can be booked by appointment (24 hours in advance) for certain days and hours. It will also be open for walk-in’s/first come, first served basis.

 

To Schedule an Appointment to use a Massage Chair in the Oasis:

Please keep in mind:

  • Oasis slots are 20 minutes long.
  • No food, drinks, or vaping allowed.
  • Phones are to be silenced, no loud music, or phone calls.
  • Students who are not observing the Student Code of Conduct, are disruptive to others, or are not complaint with social distancing regulations, will be asked to leave the space.

Leadership Suite Renewals and New Applications

It is that time of year again, leadership suite applications for both new applicants and renewals are due by April 14th.

What are Leadership Suites? Leadership Suites highlight student organizations actively involved in identifying community challenges- and creating solutions. The primary purposes for Leadership Suites- and the Student Leadership Center- is to inspire uninvolved students to become civically engaged, generate positive community impact, and build leaders for the future
