Media Literacy Week - Film Screening - Dark Money
Celebrate the frightening realities of media and manipulation this Halloween with the Center for Civic Leadership, Hinkle Library, and the Department of English and Humanities as we close out Media Literacy week with a screening of the documentary film Dark Money. Join us as we examine how the 2010 Supreme Court Citizens United ruling has undermined our democracy. Can't stay for the whole film? No worries! We will have information available to help you continue your viewing and learning after you leave us. We will also have light refreshments and additional media literacy information.
When: October 31st from 11-1
Where: SLC Small Events Space (310)

Stay For 4 - Submit Your Application In Time to Register For Spring Classes!
Any students who are planning to graduate this December from either an associate (or certificate) program who wish to continue their education at Alfred State College in a corresponding baccalaureate (or associate) degree program need to complete a SUNY Joint Admissions/Intent to Enroll Form. This would also include any graduates who wish to pursue the Technology Management or Interdisciplinary Studies baccalaureate degree!
These forms should be completed and returned to the Admissions Office as soon as possible. Students must submit their completed SUNY Joint Admissions/Intent to Enroll Forms to the Admissions Office by the November 7 in order to sign-up for spring classes when course registration opens on November 17. As a reminder, there is no application fee since students will be either associate degree (or certificate) recipients continuing in the corresponding program.

STAT Interest Meeting - Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow
🍦 STAT Interest Meeting - Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow
Thursday, November 13 | 3:00 - 5:00 PM | SLC Small Event Space (Room 310)
Join us for the first Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (STAT) meeting of the academic year! STAT is all about celebrating Alfred State pride, building traditions, and creating meaningful connections between students and alumni. Whether you’re looking to get involved, make new friends, or start building your professional network, STAT is the perfect place to begin.
We’ll be serving Perry’s Ice Cream, founded by Brian Perry ’85 - an Alfred State alumnus who remains deeply connected to the college and continues to give back in meaningful ways. While Brian won’t be in attendance, we’re proud to share a taste of his success as we talk about the importance of staying connected beyond graduation.
Come enjoy some ice cream, learn about STAT’s mission and upcoming opportunities, and discover how you can make an impact as a student today - and an alum tomorrow!
Everyone is welcome! Bring a friend and your Pioneer pride!
Leadership Suite Applications Are Open
Do you belong to a club or organization actively involved in making a difference in the larger community? Are you solving problems, taking on opportunities, and using your passion and skills to help others? This could take the form of volunteerism, community service trips, public awareness campaigns, fundraising efforts, advocacy, and education.
If so, we invite you to view our Civic Engagement Pioneer page to submit a Leadership Suite proposal. Leadership Suites are designed to celebrate our clubs and organizations leading the way with civic action and help broaden visibility to get others involved in community-minded causes and initiatives locally, regionally, and/or globally.
Generally, there are 2-5 suites up for review each semester. Suite applications must be submitted by November 30th, 2025, to be considered for Spring 2026.
Interested but have questions, please reach out to civicengagement@alfredstate.edu.
