Join us for an exciting team competition event featuring teams of six, with at least two members of the opposite gender. Enjoy a fun-filled day packed with games, challenges, and activities, along with delicious food and drinks provided for all participants. Take part in the raffle for a chance to win great prizes and compete for monetary rewards for the top-performing teams. Don’t miss out on this action-packed event full of camaraderie and competition!

Spring Hunting Permits
Spring hunting permits for small game and turkey will be available at University Police Monday, March 31st beginning at 7:00 A.M. We have a limited number of 25 to be issued.
Please stop at UPD’s dispatch located in the Theta Gamma House and bring a driver’s license of other form of ID.
Hunting at the College Farm property is limited to the farmhouse side of Route 244.
Stay For 4 - Submit Your Application In Time to Register For Fall Classes!
Any students who are planning to graduate this May from either an associate (or certificate) program who wish to continue their education at Alfred State College in a corresponding baccalaureate (or associate) degree program need to complete a SUNY Joint Admissions/Intent to Enroll Form. This includes any graduates who wish to pursue the Technology Management or Interdisciplinary Studies baccalaureate degree!
This form should be submitted online by the end of March in order to sign-up for fall classes when course registration opens on April 7. As a reminder, there is no application fee since students will be either associate degree (or certificate) recipients continuing in the corresponding program.
The SUNY Joint Admissions/Intent to Enroll form is available at https://www.alfredstate.edu/stay-for-four.
The Last Day to Drop a Full-Term Class is Friday, March 28, 2025 at 4pm
- Students must work with their academic department to complete a Course Change Notice to drop a class.
- The completed Course Change Notice should be brought to the Student Records and Financial Services Office for processing.
- Financial aid will review all course drops to determine any financial aid implications.
- A $20 fee is charged for a course drop. This fee can be paid online at my.AlfredState.edu/finances or in person at the Student Records and Financial Services Office. A late fee will be added if it’s not paid within 30 days.

RISE Fundraiser
Alfred State’s RISE program is selling RISE promotional bracelets as a fundraiser now through March 28th. The cost is $3 and the proceeds go towards educational programming and experiences for the students in the RISE program. If you are interested in helping support RISE programming, you will be able to buy a bracelet from RISE students who will be circulating through the academic buildings selling the bracelets or you can reach out to ryanma@alfredstate.edu or call RISE directly at (585) 808-9283.

Facilities Services is looking for students to join our grounds crew this summer! To reach more Alfred State students who plan to stay in the area, we’re posting this opportunity earlier than usual.
Responsibilities include assisting with event setups, moving furniture, and performing general grounds maintenance such as weed trimming, trash collection, mulching, and planting flowers.
Position Details:
📅 Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
📅 Start Date: The posting requests an April start date to assist with Commencement preparations; however, we understand classes will still be in session and are happy to accommodate schedules until the semester ends.

The Academic Advising Center is hosting one virtual Registration Readiness workshop to help prepare students for Fall registration. The workshop will be on TEAMS and is scheduled for Monday, March 31st at 5:30pm. It's time to look to the future and plan for next semester! Learn about course registration, meeting with your advisor, staying on track with your degree planning, and graduation requirements! Most students get to register themselves for classes. Spring Civic Film and Discussion - April 2nd at 5pm
The Center for Civic Leadership and Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences invite you to join us for a screening of Please Vote for Me, a compelling documentary that explores democracy in an unexpected setting: a third-grade classroom in China. As students navigate campaigning, debates, and election strategies, the film asks us to consider our understanding of democracy in action. The film is 45 minutes long and time for discussion afterwards will be included. Voter Registration information and snacks provided!

Selecting your Room!
Room selection will begin March 31, 2025 for students whose tuition deposit is received by March 25.
For those who have not paid their tuition deposit by March 26, room selection will begin on April 14, 2025.
You will need to have your housing application completed in order to select your room!
Selecting your room instructions:
- Log into your my.alfredstate.edu
- Select the “Housing” icon
- Return to "Housing Overview"
- Select the green "Browse Rooms"
- You can search for specific rooms by building/section and/or other residence preferences set up. This may take a couple of attempts pending on your preferences and room availability. "No bed available" will appear if there is not a room available through the preferences you set up.
- Click the "bed" icon to select your room of choice.
- Dialog window will be prompted with details of the selected room.
- Click the "choose this bed" button
- Review the details of your room reservation. Click on "Assign me now" to confirm your assignment. Click the "look at other rooms" link to browse other rooms.
Please note individual room selection will close on August 1, 2025

Grant Money Available for your Spring Bill
Alfred State College has been awarded funding through NYS for the Aid for Part-Time Study (APTS) grant for the 2024-2025 academic year. Students may be eligible to receive up to $1,000 for the Spring semester.
Part-time students may obtain an application online at https://www.alfredstate.edu/financial-aid/forms or by emailing sfs@alfredstate.edu.
Students who received APTS funding for the Fall 2024 semester DO NOT need to submit another application for spring 2025.
Eligibility criteria include:
Matriculated student consistently enrolled between three (3) and eleven (11) credit hours per semester.
Enrolled in at least one full term course this semester.
New York State resident
Completed 2024-2025 FAFSA application
Meet satisfactory academic progress
Not receiving TAP or Part-Time TAP this semester
Applicants are required to submit a signed 2022 New York State Income Tax return for student (or parent if applicable) along with the signed APTS application. Applications will not be reviewed until all documentation has been submitted and signed.
Forward the completed application and required tax forms to sfs@alfredstate.edu. The deadline for the Spring 2025 semester is Friday, April 11, 2025.
Submission of an APTS application does not guarantee receipt of an award. Students who are not eligible will receive an email through their Alfred State email account indicating the reason for ineligibility.
Esports Room Open Hours
Have a bit of downtime between classes? Come down to the Esports rooms in SLC 202 and 319! All students are welcome to utilize our gaming PCs during our hosted Open Hours noted below. Students are welcome to play any of the games we have on the computers or work with our staff to include games you would like to see available.
