Spring 2023 New Incoming and New Transfer Student Room Selection

The Office of Residential Services is proud to announce the launch of our new housing software, eRezLife! With that, new incoming students as well as new transfer students are now able to sign up for housing for the Spring 2023 semester. To do so, please go to our Room Selection page on the Residential Services portion of the Alfred State website and follow the instructions provided. Room selections are now open and will close on Monday, January 16.

Spring Semester Billing Due Date Extended

The spring 2023 semester bill due date has been extended until Thursday, January 19th at 4p. No course drop will occur until that time. Students who have not yet processed their spring bill have been notified of this extension by email. Students dropped for non-payment on January 19th are charged a $50 late registration fee when they re-register for classes.

EMT Original and Refresher Course

EMT ORIGINAL COURSE

Start Date – Tuesday January 24, 2023

Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays 6 pm-10 pm with some Saturdays 8 am-12 pm

Location:  Alfred State College, Physical Health Sciences Building, Nursing Department

Pre-requisite – FEMA ICS 100, FEMA ICS 700, FEMA ICS 5A   training.fema.gov

Physical with TB test performed within 6 months prior to class with proof of immunizations or must be completed within the first month of class.

Fee: $120 per person with agency affiliation

$1,500 per person with no agency affiliation

CLASS WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 12 who turn in all paperwork.

Pre-course registration forms and all FEMA certificates must be turn in prior to the first class.

FEMA Classes due no later than Feb 2nd ( NO Exceptions)

Book being used - EMERGENCY CARE 14th edition by Daniel Limmer, Michael F. O’Keefe.  Books will be available to purchase the first night of class.

Need Textbooks Sooner? Add Funds to CSA!

Students who are expecting a refund, but need book money or supplies, can add pending financial aid funds to their CSA (Campus Spending Account). CSA accounts allow students to use pending financial aid funds to purchase books and supplies.

Nominate for a Civic Engagement Award

College Council’s Leadership Through Civic Engagement Award

Please consider nominating a student, faculty, or staff member that has been a civic engagement leader in some capacity over the past two years before the January 27th deadline!

  • Who:  Anyone may nominate a student or faculty/staff member.  Faculty/staff service would need to be within the past two years 
  • Description:  College Council recognize members of the Alfred State community annually for leadership in civic engagement.  Background, instructions, and application found here (link here)
  • How to Nominate:  Use the online application
  • Recognition:  College Council selects up to 2 faculty/staff and unlimited # of deserving student awardees. Student awardees are recognized at Honors Convocation while faculty/staff awardees are recognized at the Reward & Recognition Luncheon.
