New Alfred State Voter Registration and Resource Portal!

Alfred State has enhanced its non-partisan political engagement resources and partnered with ALL IN to implement a voter registration and resource portal for our students! A new Register to Vote link can be found on the Student Portal Page under student resources. From that link you can either continue to voter registration resources that are relevant for you and the state you wish to be registered in or you can use a pull down menu in the top corner of the landing page that says Get Vote Ready to access additional resources such as:

If you are registering to vote in NYS the last day to have your registration logged with the Board of Elections is October 26th, but each state had different deadlines and we recommend that eligible students get registered ASAP so that you have time to verify your voter status, check your polling location, and make a plan to vote (i.e. mail in ballot, early voting location, scheduling a time to get to your polling location on election day). Should you have questions about the voting process or navigating the above resources, we have staff that are able to assist on both the Alfred and Wellsville campus, their contact details and additional resources can be found on our Political Engagement page.

Community Trick-or-Treat Event October 30th

Alfred State is once again opening the doors to the SLC park-space and leadership suites for our wider community to bring their children for a trick-or-treat event and we invite you to be a collaborative partner!

  • Date - Wednesday, October, 30th
  • Location - 3rd Floor of Alfred States Student Leadership Center
  • Time- 5pm to 7pm

There are a few ways to be involved:

  • Celebrate your campus affinities while engaging in this spirited community engagement event by signing your club/department/class up to have a table in the SLC to hand out "treats" to the community "treaters"
  • Can't donate your time but want to help with supplies? Donate candy or Halloween-themed swag to be handed out by campus organizations on the night.
  • Looking for something fun to do with your own children, bring them in costume to "trick-or-treat" in the SLC and help us spread the word to the wider community (we can even print a poster for you to put up if you have known spots for parents and guardians to take note)

As an added bit of seasonal fun, we have a door decorating contest between leadership suites in the SLC and invite you to cast your vote on our door decorating competition link or scanning a QR code that is available in the window of the Civic Leadership Suite (SLC 412). The winning suite will be announced after the trick-or treat event on Monday, October 30th and will get a boost to their leadership suite funding.

For sign up to support this event complete our trick-or-treat collaborators form. If you have any questions, please email civicengagement@alfredstate.edu
