$1000 Scholarship opportunity: Calling all students who made Dean’s List and helped the community!

Did you have a 3.5 GPA while taking 12+ credit hours and also demonstrate your commitment to the campus or surrounding community through action or involvement?  The Association for Council Members and College Trustees (ACT) offers an opportunity to apply for a competitive $1000 scholarship with an additional $250 given to the charity of your choice.  If interested in applying, please contact  SmithDL1@alfredstate.edu for a copy of the application form.  Please note: ACT only awards one winner among all students in the Colleges of Technology sector.  The application deadline is June 1, 2024 (submitted application form to SmithDL1@alfredstate.edu).

Club/Organization Programming Application for Week of Welcome & Homecoming/Family Weekend

Calling all clubs & organizations! Before you leave for your well deserved summer break, please ensure that you fill out the Week of Welcome & Homecoming/Family Weekend application by Friday, May 10 at 4PM. If we do not receive this form or communication, you will not be permitted to program during these events. In addition, this application does not guarantee you a spot, or guarantee the time you requested due to mandatory events during these large-scale programs. You will receive your decision by June 7, 2024.

SLC Hours of Operation for Summer

Reminder to Register and Apply for Financial Aid for the Fall!

The bill for the fall semester will become available online July 1st.  To have an accurate bill, students must be registered for classes and completed the FAFSA and TAP applications for the 24-25 academic year.  Please reach out to the Student Records and Financial Services Office if you need help!

Work-Study Opportunities with Student Senate for 2024-25 Academic Year

Are you eligible for work-study and seeking a job for the next academic year? The Student Senate is now hiring! This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with various operational aspects of student governance and enhance your organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain records, update databases, perform audits, and coordinate procurement of Student Senate assets.
  • Club and Organization Finance Support: Act as a contact for student groups regarding Senate financing, organizational development, and more.
  • Event Support: Assist in the planning and implementation of leadership events planned by the Student Senate.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain communication with student clubs and coordinate activities with Senate departments.
  • Additional Duties: Participate in major college events and undertake tasks as assigned to support Senate operations.

Graduating Student Survey - Please Tell Us How Well Your Academic Program Prepared You to Succeed

If you are about to graduate from Alfred State, congratulations! All graduating students received an emailed survey link asking how well your academic program's curriculum prepared you to succeed in each of the expected learning outcomes for your program. Look for an email from Bridget Jacobs, Alfred State College - Surveys. Some of the surveys can be accessed from MyLearning as well. It only takes a minute to complete and will help us assess and improve learning in your program!

Responses are anonymous and names will not appear anwhere on the survey. Commencement Lot Closures-University Police

Parking lots 18, 19, 20, 20a, 21 and 22 will all be closing on Thursday May 9th at 4 pm to prepare for Commencement.  Please have your vehicles moved out of these lots by that time.  Suggested alternate parking will be in lot 31.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Congratulations, Deepa!

Dr. Deepa Deshpande is the 2024 recipient of the Sharon Gallagher Memorial Scholarship.  She was awarded this by the Faculty Advisory Council on Teaching & Technology and the CIT 2024 Planning Committee.  She will also be presenting at the CIT 2024 Conference May 21-24, 2024.  Congratulations!  Way to go!

Fall 2024 Room Selection for New Students          

Selecting your Room! 

Room selection will begin April 1, 2024 for students whose tuition deposit is received by March 26.  

For those who have not paid their tuition deposit by March 26, room selection will begin on April 15, 2024. 

You will need to have your housing application completed in order to select your room! 

Selecting your room instructions:

  1. Log into your my.alfredstate.edu
  2. Select the “Housing” icon
  3. Return to "Housing Overview" 
  4.  Select the green "Browse Rooms"
  5. You can search for specific rooms by building/section and/or other residence preferences set up. This may take a couple of attempts pending on your preferences and room availability. "No bed available" will appear if there is not a room available through the preferences you set up. 
  6. Click the "bed" icon to select your room of choice. 
  7. Dialog window will be prompted with details of the selected room. 
  8. Click the "choose this bed" button
  9. Review the details of your room reservation. Click on "Assign me now" to confirm your assignment.  Click the "look at other rooms" link to browse other rooms. 

Please note individual room selection will close on August 1, 2024

Monday, March 25 – 90+ Credit Hours Completed

Tuesday, March 26, 60+ credit hours completed

Wednesday, March 27, 30+ credit hours completed

Thursday, March 28 , 29 or less credit hours completed
