To kick off International Women's Week, please join us on Monday, March 4 in the MacKenzie Commons from 5-7PM for a Women's Empowerment Mixer. It will be an evening of inspiring conversations regarding inclusion, womanhood, and sisterhood. The evening will provide opportunities to meet and conversate with our female faculty/staff and other students while enjoying light refreshments.

Alfred State Drama Club presents the Miscast Cabaret! Join us this Friday, February 16th at 6pm in the Orvis Auditorium for an evening of musical performances done by people in unlikely roles. Come by and support these skilled performers!

The Department of Digital Media and Animation invites you to "Dazzle", a solo exhibition of visual art from DMA Professor Sara Kramer. The exhibition will be on display from February 5 through March 1.

Opening Reception: Friday, February 9, 5-7pm

Location: Bret Llewellyn Gallery, SET 312

Regular Gallery Hours: M-F, 10am-4pm

Kramer received a BA in Fine Art from Purdue University and an MFA in Studio Art from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Kramer maintains an interdisciplinary practice, working primarily with drawing, soft sculpture, and wearable art. A focus on home craft materials and methods reflects the impact of skills learned in childhood from Kramer's mother. "Dazzle" uses the idea of camouflage as a starting point to ask questions about identity, presentation, honesty, and deception. 

All students completing degree requirements this semester need to apply to graduate (diplomas are not automatically awarded) by visiting my.AlfredState.edu/registration > Graduation and Commencement > Apply for Graduation.  Prospective graduates should contact their academic department to ensure graduation requirements have been met and view their degree progress on DegreeWorks. 

The deadline to apply for a May 2024 diploma is February 26, 2024. 

• There is NO fee for the graduation application.
• Students with a minor OR students in a 4-year program looking to earn the corresponding 2-year degree (once requirements are met) must apply to graduate by filling out a Paper Degree Application. 
• Please DO NOT apply for August 2024 graduation at this time. 
• Graduating students who plan to return this fall (in a new program) must apply for readmission through the Admissions Office.  Readmission Applicants are unable to register until their application is approved.

Calling all first-year students! Do you excel at event planning, have exciting ideas, or just want to be more involved on campus? The Office of Student Engagement is looking for first-year students who would be interested in joining a First Year Prom committee. ALL are invited to a FREE pancake dinner at Union University Church Center (5 Church Street) on Tuesday February 13th from 5pm-7pm! February 13th is Shrove Tuesday that has a fun tradition of eating pancakes in preparation of Lent. ALL are welcome to simply eat pancakes and enjoy!
