First-Generation College Student Celebration - 11/8
Please join the Pioneer Family in celebrating National First-Generation College Student Day on Friday, November 8 in the MacKenzie Commons from 5-7 p.m.! This day is to celebrate those who are first-generation college students. All are welcome even if you are not a first-generation student, come celebrate those who are and show your support! There will be food, music, interactive activities, a photo station, & more. We hope to see you there!
*Alfred State College defines First-Generation college students as being the first in their family to attend college. Siblings may also be attending a college or university, but neither parent has completed an Associate’s degree or higher. Be proud that you are FIRST!

Campus Climate Survey - Don't Miss Your Opportunity!
We are excited about the launch of the Campus Climate Survey, facilitated by Viewfinder. However, we have been made aware that some students may have missed the survey as it is labeled as “external” and may end up in the “Other” inbox if both “Focused” and “Other” inboxes are activated in Outlook. The survey link is unique to each person but is anonymous.
This survey is a valuable opportunity for you to share your thoughts and experiences on campus. We encourage you to participate and ensure completion before the survey closes on November 15th! Don't miss your chance to win one of three $100 gift cards to the bookstore!

Alternative Spring Break Applications Are Now Open!
The application for our Alternative Spring Break trip is now open!
Fall is here and before you know it, Spring will be at our doorstep and we are looking for the next group of pioneers to participate in our Service-Learning trip in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. If you love giving back to communities in need and soaking up some sunshine when the snow just won’t let go, our spring break service trip could be perfect for you!
We will once again be traveling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to work with Habitat for Humanity during our 2025 spring break (March 9th-March 15th). If you are interested in learning more or wish to be considered for the trip, we invite you to visit our Civic Engagement Pioneer page to submit your application. While we open this opportunity up for student volunteers, we welcome interested faculty/staff to also reach out in case we have need for additional chaperone support.
Not sure if this trip is for you, please help us spread the word to others regarding this wonderful opportunity to take part in Habitat for Humanity’s Collegiate Challenge event so we can send a rock-star group of Alfred State Pioneers to support some community well-being down south!
We have limited spaces available and will be finalizing our cohort for spring by Thanksgiving! Should you have any questions, please reach out to Cyan Corwine (corwincy@alfredstate.edu)
