Construction Update

Our contractors continue to make great strides on the infrastructure project!

OPENINGS: For Friday the 13th, we have the good fortune of opening Lower College Drive near the Townhouses along with student parking lot #2 at the townhouses and fac/staff parking lot #6 next to Ag Sciences. It’s great to see this progress as that section of the work is ready to reopen.

Also on Friday, access to parking lots #18-24 will once again be accessible coming from the west with a temporary gravel entrance that will be open just in time for homecoming.

CLOSURE: Beginning Monday, October 16 work on Upper College Drive will move in front of Orvis and will block the entrances to student parking #25 and fac/staff lot #26. All auto access to athletic facilities will need to take the loop road from Facilities Services to the west entrance of lots #18-24.

Fac/staff lot #27 will remain open near the multi-purpose courts but it will be a tight entry for that week. Beginning Monday, October 23 continued Upper College Drive construction will necessitate the closure of fac/staff lot #27.

PARKING IMPACTS: Faculty/staff parking impacts are limited to two spaces in lot #26 in front of Orvis and an RD reserved space in lot #25. All students currently parked in #25 next to MacKenzie North will need to move their cars by noon on Sunday, October 15.

MAP: A University Police Parking Map includes all lot numbers and is available online with the Oct. 16 construction updates marked.

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to make Alfred State more Be-YOU-tiful and as always please contact Jon Nickerson at 4724 if you have any questions or concerns.
