NSLS Invitations

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) has sent the spring 2025 invitations to join the Alfred State chapter of NSLS. This legitimate honor society has been supported by Alfred State since 2017 and has inducted over 1,000 students on campus since its founding. Members are invited based on students' previous GPA or recommendation from a campus employee. If you have received an invitation, congratulations! We hope you accept this invitation and explore the wonderful benefits of your membership. The last day to accept this nomination is Tuesday, February 18. If you accept this nomination, there are some required events to be fully inducted into this honor society. Please view these events on the NSLS dashboard after accepting your nomination.

Any questions about NSLS can be directed to Don Schrader (shraddk@alfredstate.edu) or Cyan Corwin (corwincy@alfredstate.edu).

Notice Regarding Bird Control Efforts on Campus - University Police

At dusk each evening, University Police will be using handheld launchers to discharge bird whistlers in an effort to manage the large number of crows on campus.  The whistlers are non-harmful devices designed to create sounds that encourage the crows to relocate without causing them harm. This is part of our ongoing efforts to address the situation in a safe and effective manner. We ask for your understanding as we work to maintain a safe and clean environment for all. Should you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to University Police.

New Student Parking Pass Pick Up - University Police

New students, or students that are bringing a vehicle to campus for the first time can pick up parking passes anytime at the University Police Department. We are open 24/7. If you picked up a parking pass in the Fall, that pass is good through the Spring semester.

If you have not registered your vehicle yet, please do so online in BannerWeb and select:
Student Services & Financial Aid:
•    Registration
•    Bill Processing/Adjustments
•    Pay/Process Bill
•    Select Term
•    Your billing information will appear and under "Adjustable Fees" you will enter your vehicle information (license plate number and state along with vehicle make, model, color, year).

If you are not able to register online, you may pay the vehicle registration fee in person at Student Records & Financial Services located in the 10 Elm Building Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. You will then have to bring your receipt to the University Police Department and fill out your vehicle information and pick up your hang tag at that time.

  2. Residential Students:
    • Cannot park in Faculty/Staff (F/S) lots.
    • Cannot park in Commuter (CR) lots, even if you drive to the Wellsville Campus or other locations every morning.
  3. Commuters:
    • CAN park in any Student parking lots as well as the designated Commuter Lots.
    • If attending night classes after 4:30 pm, you can park in F/S lots 6, 7, 10, 11, 28, and 29.
  4. Prohibited Parking:
    • No parking in fire lanes, dorm ramps, grass, sidewalks, Future Pioneer spots, visitor or accessible spaces.

  7. Wheel Lock Policy: A vehicle with 3+ unpaid parking tickets may receive a wheel lock until all tickets are cleared.

As a courtesy to your fellow Pioneers, if you do not plan to use your vehicle daily, or at least every couple of days, please park your vehicle in one of the upper parking lots such as 18, 19, 20, 20a (near the stadium) or 31 (located behind Peet Hall).
