Homecoming Family Weekend Basket Raffle

Homecoming Family Weekend is fast approaching and it is time to start thinking  about our Annual Basket Raffle!  Is your department or organization interested in donating a basket for the raffle?  We encourage you to come up with a unique and fun theme for your basket!  Please reach out to Sandra Burdick at BurdicSL@alfredstate.edu or by calling X4098 to let us know if you are planning on donating a basket.  Baskets will need to be wrapped in cellophane and delivered to the Office of Student Engagement in the Student Leadership Center no later than Wednesday, October 19th.  Baskets will be displayed and tickets can be purchased in the Student Leadership Center in Room 204 on Friday, October 21st from 10am until 4pm and again at Homecoming on Saturday, October 22nd during the tailgate festivities with tickets being drawn at halftime.  Tickets will be sold as a sheet of 25 tickets for $10.  You may purchase multiple sheets if desired.

Apply for December 2022 Diploma

All students completing degree requirements this semester need to apply for a diploma (diplomas are not automatically awarded) by visiting my.AlfredState.edu/registration and selecting “Apply for Graduation”.  The deadline to apply for a December 2022 diploma is October 10, 2022.  Please DO NOT apply for May 2022 graduation at this time.  Graduating students who plan to return in the fall (in a new program) need to apply for readmission through the Admissions Office and will be unable to register until their readmission application has been approved.  Prospective graduates should contact their advisor or department chair to ensure graduation requirements have been met and view their progress online using the DegreeWorks tool on my.AlfredState.edu/registration.  If you have any questions, contact the Student Records and Financial Services Office at sfs@alfredstate.edu or call 607-587-4253.

Flu Clinic - Wellsville Campus

WE ARE HOLDING OUR 3RD ANNUAL FLU VACCINE CLINIC 

ON OCTOBER 12, 2022, FROM 9:00AM – 1:00PM 

A Pharmacist from Fischer’s Pharmacy will again be coming to the PSU on the Wellsville Campus to give Flu shots at the above date and time! We would like to continue this convenience for our students, staff, and instructors so consider coming in for your Flu shot with us! 

In order for us to get the vaccine ordered and all the rest coordinated, we need you to pick up a packet from either Pam Brandes in the Zero Energy Home, or Teri Toth-Fleischman, RN in the Wellsville Health Center as soon as possible.  The packet has a consent form to be completed and returned with a copy of your insurance card by Wed Oct 5th. Pam’s Office is open M-F 8am-4pm, and Teri is in the Health Center M-F 7:30 – 3:30pm. There is also an information handout and a screening questionnaire that you fill out the day you get the injection.  

**Please have your insurance card handy so we can copy this for the payment. To help the process run as smoothly and quickly as possible, Fischer’s will process your insurance information ahead of time. For this service, we will need: 

1.     a copy of your insurance card. 

2.     a completed consent. 

(COMPLETED NO LATER THAN Wed. 10/5/20 PLEASE!) 

This will expedite the time you spend in the PSU! We will be using the Welcome room across from the Health Center. You will have to remain for 10 minutes after the injection in case of any reaction.

Flu Vaccine Available - Alfred Pharmacy

Cold and flu season is upon on us, and we have great news, the Alfred Pharmacy has you covered!

Alfred Pharmacy will be offering the flu vaccine to all students, no appointment needed.  Vaccine will be administered on a first come basis so prepare for the possibility of a small wait time.  Please note that the following information is required when you present to the pharmacy, and small amount of paperwork will need to be completed:

• Full address including county where you reside outside of the academic year
• Last 4 of your Social Security Number
• Insurance Card (if you have insurance coverage)

Mini-Break Housing Information

The Office of Residential Services would like to remind students that the residence halls will not close for Mini-Break (October 1 to October 4). With that, students are permitted to remain in their housing assignments without applying for break housing. Regardless of if you plan to remain on campus during a portion of mini-break or if you plan to go home, we ask that you take a few minutes to fill out the following survey. This information will be used to get an understanding of how many students will be on campus and to determine how best to serve them.

The SLC Hours of Operation for Mini-Break are as follows:

• Friday, October 1st – closed at 6PM
• Saturday and Sunday – CLOSED
• Monday and Tuesday (10/4 & 10/5) – Open 7AM – 5PM
• Wednesday 10/6 – return to 7am – 12am 7 days per week
