Commuter Parking Reminders - University Police

There are three dedicated parking lots for students that commute to the Alfred Campus, they are 4, 9 and 13. Parking lot 4 is located by the old 10 Elm Building. Parking lot 9 begins at the Alumni House and lines up with parking lot 13 which is located across the street from the Mackenzie Complex and next to the Health Center. These three parking lots are ONLY to be utilized by students that possess an Alfred State Commuter parking pass. If you live on the Alfred Campus and have a blue Student Parking permit, you are not authorized to park in Commuter parking *even if you drive your vehicle to the Wellsville Campus every day. In addition to these lots, commuter students may also park in any other designated student lot. Commuters are not authorized to park in Faculty and Staff, Visitor or Future Pioneer spots. If your housing status has changed, it is your responsibility to stop by the University Police Department to turn in your old permit and pick up the correct permit. Alfred State Parking Regulations can be viewed online at: https://www.alfredstate.edu/university-police/parking-regulations

Facilitated Community Conversation about Black Love

On Monday Feb. 12 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm the Cultural Life Center, Cultural Life Assembly, and Brother to Brother will sponsor a community conversation entitled "Black Love: How we love ourselves and one another". The event will be held in the Small Events Space on the 3rd floor of the Student Leadership Center.

Dr. Brian Saltsman will facilitate the discussion and include members of the Alfred State campus community.

The discussion will focus on topics such as how those present have seen depictions of Black love (inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ experience), how we have experienced Black love in our lives, the concept, practice, and expression of healthy Black love, and how/why Black love is unique. We are striving to have a discussion among those present and to be able to share openly the insight and experiences which are hallmarks of the experience known as Black Love. We hope that many members of our campus community will be able and willing to join us for this deeply enriching and promising event.
