Week of Welcome - Opportunities to connect with students & have fun!

Week of Welcome (WOW) will be held Monday, August 19-Sunday, August 25 with numerous academic and extra-curricular activities being hosted to engage and welcome our new students to Alfred State College! WOW is the perfect opportunity to connect with our new Pioneers outside of the classroom and offices while having fun on campus. It is our goal to have professionals come out to our events taking place to mingle with students, volunteer to assist with events, and help them feel at home during this transitional period. If you are interested in attending an event and/or volunteering, we are happy to connect with you to provide the specific details to find a time that fits your availability. Specifically, we encourage professionals to attend our New Student Carnival on Sunday, August 25 from 4PM-7PM, located on the spine of campus.

We look forward to working with you during WOW, please reach out to Calsey Bump at bumpce@alfredstate.edu if you would like to participate in a Week of Welcome event!

New FERPA Management Software

ASC has launched FERPA Management in the Alfred State Parent & Family Connections platform!   Here’s how it works:

  1. After creating an account, your parent(s) or anyone else supporting you, can make a connection request to access your academic and financial records through a digital FERPA waiver.
  2. You will be notified of the request.  You have the choice to approve or reject permissions for requested records.  You can also initiate a connection and select what information you want them to access.
  3. Approved connections can view a dashboard of your academic and financial data in the portal, and they will receive email alerts when the data changes.

What does this mean for you?

Please direct any questions to the Student Records and Financial Services Office
