Alfred State Greeks are hosting a special event to help students register for classes for next year! 2025 Hot Dog Day Guest Pre-Registration

The Office of Residential Services has opened guest pre-registration for those Alfred State students who live on campus that would like to have off-campus guests during Hot Dog Day Weekend.  Although pre-registration is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged so you can skip the long wait of registering your guest with a staff member.

 

Students may only have one on-campus or off-campus at a time during Hot Dog weekend. Your guest should also be over the age of 17, otherwise they will not be permitted to stay in the residence hall. 

 

Pre-registration will run until Friday, April 18th.  Final approvals will be made on Tuesday, April 22nd.

Alice in Wonderland - Drama Club Production

Alfred State Drama Club presents Alice in Wonderland, based on the classic by Lewis Carroll and adapted by Anne Coulter Martens. Alice was just playing in the grass when suddenly an intriguing white rabbit passes her by. Little does Alice know that when she chases him, she’ll find herself down the rabbit hole and into a strange land, full of wonder and an assortment of mysterious characters! Desperately trying to get home, Alice will meet all the residents of Wonderland with plenty of adventure along the way! Join the Mad Hatter, Mr. White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, and more as we help Alice find her way back home.

This show is appropriate for all audiences and is open to all! Tickets can be purchased at the campus store in advance via CSA, cash, or card but you may also purchase tickets for CASH ONLY at the door. Tickets are $5 for students of any kind and $10 for general admission. Performances will be at 7 pm on April 10th, 11th, & 12th in the Cappadonia Auditorium of the Orvis Activities Center. Graduation Packet Pick-Up!

GRADUATION PACKET PICK-UP!

Students can pick up their graduation packets beginning April 7th at the Alfred Campus Store or Wellsville Campus Store during regular business hours.

Students who wish to attend commencement but have not yet paid the commencement fee must pay $60 when collecting their graduation packet. Bachelor’s degree candidates will also need to purchase an academic hood from the Campus Store for an additional $30.

For online students or those not on campus this semester, please contact the Alfred Campus Store at 607-587-4020 to arrange for your graduation packet to be shipped (shipping fees apply).

Community Garden - Community Service Opportunities

Would you be interested in some community service for Spring into Action Month? Projects will run at the Community Garden on Friday, April 11, 18, and 25 from 1 pm to 4 pm. The garden is located behind the vet tech complex, and transportation can be provided via the loop bus. Does your dog have what it takes to win? Hot Dog Day Race Sign Up!

Sign your furry friend up for the Hot Dog Day Dog Race on Saturday, April 26th, 10:30 AM on the Brick Lawn! 

  • Dogs MUST be friendly with other dogs and people 
  • Dogs MUST be fully up to date on vaccinations and shots 
  • Dogs must be on a leash when not racing 
  • Dogs must have a collar with forms of identification 
  • Dogs are allowed to wear costumes

If your dog does not win, please don't leave! All dogs who run get a small prize at the end! 

*** Please note that applying does not automatically mean your dog is racing; you will receive a confirmation email confirming your registration. If not enough dogs apply for each size category, we will eliminate that category for the safety of the other participants***

Parking lot 22 Closure

Parking lot 22 will be closing at 4 pm on 4/7 for Admitted Student Day.  The parking lot will reopen on 4/8 at 4 pm.

Dirty Dog? Get it Washed!

The Vet Tech Club is hosting their spring dog wash on Sunday April 13 from 10 am to 2 pm. It will be held in the HOPR of the SLC. This is a basic wash, NO grooming (dematting, detangling, clipping, etc) is available. Open to students and faculty of Alfred State as well as members of the community. Well behaved dogs only! All dogs must be leashed and up to date on vaccinations. 

Basic dog wash $10

Ear cleaning $5

Nail trim $5

Package (wash, ears, nails) $15

Free Snacks & Fun At the Women's Lacrosse Game Tuesday

Join in the fun at the stadium on Tuesday, April 8 at 6pm to support our new women's lacrosse team during Division III Week! Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the sport, this is the perfect chance to learn the rules, enjoy free snacks, and celebrate all things D3. Handouts and fun lacrosse facts will be available, so come cheer on the team and be part of something special. See you there!

Do you have a special skill or business you would like to showcase on Hot Dog Day? The Vendor Fair runs from 12 pm until 5 pm on Saturday, April 26th on Main Street in Alfred, NY. Upon review of your application, you will receive an email with details about your status as a vendor and the next steps.

Allegany County Needs YOUR help!

Allegany County needs YOUR help for their community health survey and as a student that attends ASC your opinion matters! The survey is quite important as it is only conducted every 6 years now and is used to assess the needs of our community members across the county. The responses that are collected from the survey guide programming and suggests what are necessary interventions, several community organizations, schools, parks, and even churches depend on the data from this survey to support grant writing. Get Ready for Fall 2025 Registration

Fall 2025 registration begins April 7, 2025, at 9 AM!  The first step is printing a copy of the Course Selection Form from BannerWeb.  Next, meet with your academic adviser to review your course selections and receive your Alternate Registration PIN and web registration time. Registration instructions are available at my.AlfredState.edu/myacademics under “Academic Advising.”  

Graduating and returning in a new major?  You will need to re-apply through Admissions and pay your enrollment deposit before you will be assigned a registration time and Alternate Registration PIN.  

Were you expecting to graduate this semester but now will not?  In order to be assigned a registration time, your academic department chair must remove you from the graduation list.  Follow up to make sure your name has been removed.

Please note that students are not officially registered for classes until their bills are paid/processed with Student Records and Financial Services.  Fall 2025 bills become available online July 1st and are due by 4:00 PM on August 7, 2025.

Selecting your Room! 

Room selection will begin March 31, 2025 for students whose tuition deposit is received by March 25.  

For those who have not paid their tuition deposit by March 26, room selection will begin on April 14, 2025. 

You will need to have your housing application completed in order to select your room! 

Selecting your room instructions:

  1. Log into your my.alfredstate.edu
  2. Select the “Housing” icon
  3. Return to "Housing Overview" 
  4.  Select the green "Browse Rooms"
  5. You can search for specific rooms by building/section and/or other residence preferences set up. This may take a couple of attempts pending on your preferences and room availability. "No bed available" will appear if there is not a room available through the preferences you set up. 
  6. Click the "bed" icon to select your room of choice. 
  7. Dialog window will be prompted with details of the selected room. 
  8. Click the "choose this bed" button
  9. Review the details of your room reservation. Click on "Assign me now" to confirm your assignment.  Click the "look at other rooms" link to browse other rooms. 

Please note individual room selection will close on August 1, 2025

Monday, March 24 – 90+ Credit Hours Completed

Tuesday, March 25- 60+ credit hours completed

Wednesday, March 26- 30+ credit hours completed

Thursday, March 27- 29 or less credit hours completed
