Notification of cyber incident MOVEit - MIKE CASE

We are reaching out to you about the MOVEit Transfer software cyber incident that has impacted institutions across the nation and three organizations that we work with – the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), Corebridge, and TIAA CREF. Each organization has contacted us and/or the State University of New York to alert us of the possibility that the personal information of our students, employees, and retirees may have been impacted. We have been assured by NSC, Corebridge, and TIAA that their systems have been secured and they are working with the FBI and global cyber security experts in an ongoing investigation to determine the impact of the cyber incident.

In the coming days or weeks, we expect potentially impacted individuals will be contacted by one or more of these organizations. In the meantime, we wanted to make you aware of the potential of this outreach.

You may also wish to consider using your right to a free annual credit report from each of the major credit reporting companies Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion, and reviewing the consumer resources related to identity theft provided by the Federal Trade Commission at

Here are links from two of the organizations where you can find additional information:

Again, if you were potentially impacted by the MOVEit incident, you will be contacted by one or more of the organizations. We will also update you directly once we have further information.

Once completed our office will work on providing you with a housing assignment for the 2023 – 2024 academic year based on your building preferences.

If you have someone you wish to room with, please create a roommate group after each person has completed their housing application. Residential Services will try to place you with your roommate group if the space allows for it.

Please contact Residential Services at or 607-587-4371 with any questions.
