Degree Program Changes for Spring 2023 Semester

Degree Program Changes are used to change from one degree program to another.  Degree Program Changes may not be processed for the Spring 2023 semester after the end of the 4th week of classes, which is February 17, 2023.

When changing degree programs, students must notify both their present department chair and the department chair of the new program.  Both department chairs must approve the request and sign the appropriate Degree Program Change Form.  Department chairs are to check with the Admissions office to make sure students meet the entrance requirements of the new program before approving the request.

The student’s new department chair must list each course to be excluded from the new program.  Please refer to academic regulation 305.3 for more information on course exclusion policies.

The Degree Program Change Form must be received and processed by the Student Records and Financial Services Office before 4 p.m. on February 17, 2023 for the Spring 2023 semester.  Any requests received after the deadline will be processed for the subsequent semester.

This is just a friendly reminder to make sure you lock your dorm room doors when you leave your room and to lock your car after you park.  During the Spring Semester you will see members of Res Life and officers with the University Police Department conducting a program called "Operation Lock Out." The purpose of the program is to remind everyone to lock their doors. If you see us in your Dorm Hall please feel free to stop and chat with us! Remember: Secure your doors to protect what's yours!

Complete the NASCE Survey and be Entered in a Gift Card Drawing!

Help us capture the student story of service and community engagement at Alfred State! All students taking in person classes at the Wellsville or Alfred Campus will receive an email with a link to complete the NASCE survey, which will be sent to you from nasce@siena.edu.  Alfred State College students who complete the survey will be entered to win one of 10 campus store gift cards valued at $20 each

This survey is an investigation of service and community engagement performed by students at Alfred State College. The story of service and community engagement can be captured through so many activities, both big and small. From participating in a program that broadened awareness, donating blood, can recycling, registering to vote at tabling event, supporting campus and town clean-up events, engaging with food drive or food bank services, supported community need through a class, or joining disaster relief and habitat for humanity efforts, there are countless ways your story of community and service can be captured.  The survey should take about 10-15 minutes to complete, and we ask that all students make sure they are completing it before February 17th.

Should you have any questions you can reach out to Cyan Corwine (corwincy@alfredstate.edu) in the Center for Civic Leadership!

Campus Connect (Students Helping Students)

The Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards is excited to introduce Campus Connect, an initiative of the Best Foot Forward program. The goal of Campus Connect is to provide a quick and easy referral system for students to obtain assistance for fellow Pioneers who may be struggling for any reason.

In short, if you have a concern for another student (or yourself!), please accept the challenge and make a referral using the following web form: https://bit.ly/ascconnect. The information you share will be kept as private as possible and used to connect students to the appropriate campus personnel and resources. That’s it!

There are no restrictions to the type of concerns you can share. However, any information relating to an emergency, crime, or imminent threat should first be reported to University Police. Please contact the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards with any questions you may have.

Be empowered. Be a Pioneer. Help each other!
