Student Announce October 31, 2025

First Generation Students: collect your gift and join the celebration on 11/3 at 4pm in SLC Park Space!

Students,

Alfred State defines first generation as being the first generation in your family to complete an Associate’s (2-year) degree or higher, regardless of whether a sibling has also attended college.  We kick off our celebration of First Gen students on November 3rd at 4pm in the SLC Park Space with a party that includes some tasty treats, fun, and a free gift!   If you are a First Generation Student, like I was, stop in and collect your gift while grabbing some food!  A Pioneer is someone who is “among the first” – you’re right where you belong!

Alternative Spring Break Applications Are Now Open!

The application for our Alternative Spring Break trip is now open!

Fall is here and before you know it, Spring will be at our doorstep and we are looking for the next group of pioneers to participate in our Service-Learning trip in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. If you love giving back to communities in need and soaking up some sunshine when the snow just won’t let go, our spring break service trip could be perfect for you!

We will once again be traveling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to work with Habitat for Humanity during our 2025 spring break (March 7th-March 14th). We have two staff leaders ready to take another group of students to engage in meaningful service this spring! If you are interested in learning more or wish to be considered for the trip, we invite you to visit our Civic Engagement Pioneer page to submit your application.

Not sure if this trip is for you, please help us spread the word to others regarding this wonderful opportunity to take part in Habitat for Humanity’s Collegiate Challenge event so we can send a rock-star group of Alfred State Pioneers to support some community well-being down south!

We have limited spaces available and will be finalizing our cohort for spring by December 5th! Should you have any questions, please reach out to Cyan Corwine (corwincy@alfredstate.edu)
