Student Announce August 27, 2025

Parking update - where to find space!

On the first two days of classes, parking space demand is at a maximum.  On the second day of classes (Tuesday, August 26) at the peak mid-morning, there were 252 available student parking spaces on the Alfred campus.  The parking lots with available space were identical yesterday (when 244 spaces were open):

  • Lot 1 (by Maingate): 25 available spaces
  • Lot 16 (by West): 11 available spaces
  • Lot 19 (by stadium): 23 available spaces
  • Lot 20 (by stadium): 61 available spaces
  • Lot 20a (by stadium): 10 available spaces
  • Lot 22 (by Orvis): 13 available spaces
  • Lot 24a (above Orvis): 19 available spaces
  • Lot 31 (above Peet): 74 available spaces
  • Lot 40 (between R/C & Getman): 16 available spaces

On the Wellsville campus at the peak time, there were over 25 available student parking spaces.  These were located in a new gravel lot next to the Advanced Manufacturing Center.

Maps: You can find an interactive Alfred State College parking map at this link.  The Wellsville parking map is found here. If you click the ‘student parking’ tab/box, a list of the lot numbers will show.  When you choose a lot, the map highlights the location for you.  Alternatively, if you hover the mouse cursor over a parking lot, you can also see the lot number.

Ticketing notice:  we are providing you a courtesy notice that while warning tickets are commonly used during move-in week and on the first day (or two), actual parking enforcement / ticketing will begin as soon as tonight.  We genuinely don’t want you to receive one, so it is particularly important you avoid parking in faculty-staff parking lots by incorrectly assuming you can park virtually anywhere in the first week(s).

If you have any parking concerns, you can always email parkingconcerns@alfredstate.edu .  If you have any real-time question, you can contact UPD at 607-587-3999.  We hope this information is helpful.
