Parking Updates - Where to Find Space! (First Day of Classes)
On the first day of classes, parking space demand is certainly at a maximum. University Police actively monitors the available space. On the Alfred campus, there were over 244 available student parking spaces at the peak time. Listed below are the student parking lots that had 10 or more empty spaces at that peak time (10am):
- Lot 1 (by Maingate): 17 available spaces
- Lot 16 (by West): 12 available spaces
- Lot 19 (by stadium): 13 available spaces
- Lot 20 (by stadium): 53 available spaces
- Lot 20a (by stadium): 12 available spaces
- Lot 22 (by Orvis): 15 available spaces
- Lot 24a (above Orvis): 20 available spaces
- Lot 31 (above Peet): 86 available spaces
- Lot 40 (between R/C & Getman):16 available spaces
On the Wellsville campus at the peak time, there were over 65 available student parking spaces.
- Lot 52 (by Welding and Zero Energy): 40 available spaces
- New gravel lot next to Advanced Manufacturing (new lot number coming): 20+ available spaces
- Lot 51 (by Autobody): 5 available spaces
Maps: You can find an interactive Alfred State College parking map at this link. The Wellsville parking map is found here. If you click the ‘student parking’ tab/box, a list of the lot numbers will show. When you choose a lot, the map highlights the location for you. Alternatively, if you hover the mouse cursor over a parking lot, you can also see the lot number.
Ticketing notice: we are providing you a courtesy notice that while warning tickets are commonly used during move-in week and on the first day (or two), actual parking enforcement / ticketing will begin as soon as this week. We genuinely don’t want you to receive one, so it is particularly important you avoid parking in faculty-staff parking lots by incorrectly assuming you can park virtually anywhere in the first week(s).
If you have any parking concerns, you can always email parking concerns@alfredstate.edu. If you have any real-time question, you can contact our office at 607-587-3999 or stopping in to University Police 24 hours a day. We hope this information is helpful to share available parking spaces and map info. Have a great week!
