Student Leadership Center and Pioneer Center Building Hours for Winter Break

Here are the updated hours for the SLC and Pioneer Center from December 13-January 10. 

Student Leadership Center:

Monday- Friday: 6:30am – 5pm

Saturday and Sunday: 8am – 2pm

Saturday, January 11: Resume to normal hours: 

  • Monday-Thursday: 6:30am-11pm
  • Friday-Sunday: 6:30am-12am

 

Pioneer Center:

Monday- Friday: 8am – 4pm

Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Saturday, January 11: Resume to normal hours:

Perez Mayoral Trailblazer Scholarship - $1000

This scholarship is open to students in an accredited program, including undergraduate, graduate, or professional programs. This also includes accredited community college students as well as high school seniors and students who possess a GED who have been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited program. Health and Wellness Update: COVID-19 Tests

Health and Wellness Services is no longer providing in office COVID-19 testing or at home COVID-19 Test Kits. 

FREE COVID-19 Tests can be ordered at ASPR COVID-19 Testing or purchased at your local pharmacy or retail store.

Relay For Life hosted by Live to Fight.

Join us as we bring back Relay for Life in partnership with the American Cancer Society, an organization dedicated to funding life-saving cancer research, supporting patients and caregivers, and promoting prevention and awareness initiatives.

📅 Date: April 5th – April 6th
🕕 Time: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
📍 Location: Orvis Auditorium

🎟️ Registration Fee: $15/person (all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society)

This lock-in event is open to the entire Alfred community, surrounding communities, and Alfred State faculty, staff, and students. No entry or re-entry after 11:00 PM.

Our Goal: Raise $25,000!

What to Expect:
🎮 Games with prizes
🎟️ Basket raffles
🎭 Live performances
🌟 Memorial ceremony honoring those we’ve lost to cancer
🎵 Music throughout the event

  • Best Campsite Activity

Teams are encouraged to plan activities at their campsites.

🍴 Food: Provided at intervals throughout the night. Attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks.

Other Items You Can Bring:

  • Blankets, pillows, air mattresses
  • Comfortable chairs (standard chairs will be provided).

Items Not Allowed:

  • Weapons of any kind
  • Alcohol or drugs

Winter Break Transportation: 

Students going home for Winter Break? 

Megabus is offering non-stop bus services to New York City and Alfred for Winter break. Dates and times of bus travel are listed below! 

To New York City: 

Thursday, December 12 departing from Orvis Activities Center or West University St at 2:45 pm and 3 pm

Friday, December 13 departing from Orvis Activities Center or West University St at 7:45 am, 2:45 pm, and 3 pm

Rochester Airport Shuttle 

Depart Alfred Saturday, December 15 at 6 am

Requests for Airport Shuttle must be to the Rochester Airport and students will have to fill out the Online travel request form for both their trips to and from the airport.

Changes to Your Semester Bill

The Spring 2025 Semester Bill is now live on the new Nelnet Campus Commerce Platform! Here’s a quick guide on how to access and complete the billing process: 

Steps to Complete Your Bill:

  1. Log In: Go to my.AlfredState.edu/finances.
  2. Confirm Housing and Meal Plan: Click on “Choose Housing and Meal Plan” to verify your housing and choose your meal plan.
  3. Optional Bill Selections: Click on “Make Optional Bill Selections” to add any non-institutional fees (Vehicle Registration, Graduation fee, Campus Spending Account). If you have Federal financial aid and wish to use it for these fees, complete the necessary authorizations here.
  4. Pay Your Bill: Click on “Pay Bill/Sign up for e-Refund” to be directed to Nelnet. Completing steps 3 and 4 ensures your bill balance is accurate.

 

Benefits of the New Platform:

  • Authorized Users: Add up to 5 people to view or pay on your account and receive important notifications.
  • Centralized Information: See your bill, payments, and refund details in one place.
  • Payment Convenience: Set up automatic payments and securely save a payment method.
