Community Needs Hub - Open Hours and Donations
The Civic Leadership team has been busy filling pantry requests and making sales since our Community Needs Hub grand opening on Monday October 9th! If you haven’t checked us out yet, we invite you to stop by! We are grateful to be able to have this space for your campus community and are currently seeking donations.
Our hours of operation in the Community Needs Hub (ground floor of Peet Hall) are*:
- Monday 12-3
- Tuesday 12-6
- Wednesday 12-6
- Friday 12-6
- Saturday 10-2
*While we aim to have abide by the above hours, there are occasionally changes in staff availability, so we have a large blue feather flag that says OPEN to help signify when we are open for business.
Currently Seeking*:
- Winter attire (coats, hats, gloves, boots, sweaters)
- Men’s clothing
- Ramen Noodles (vegetarian and meat options – these fly off the shelf)
- Pasta Sauce (expensive to ship and running low)
*we are happy to receive any clean/good condition clothing and non-perishable food but the above are items are of particular interest.
Donations can be dropped off during open hours in our Community Needs Hub, which is accessed through the two front facing doors on ground floor of Peet Hall or dropped off in our donation bin at the 3rd floor entrance of the SLC. Alternatively, you can email civicengagement@alfredstate.edu to make drop off plans.
Thank you for your continued support!

Looking for an on-campus job? The OASIS is hiring!
We are looking for motivated work-study eligible students to help staff our Oasis in the Student Leadership Center. We will have shifts available daily, 7 days per week. Basic responsibilities will include checking in guests, sanitizing equipment after use, supporting events within the space, and working with students and guests. Please reach out to Sandra Burdick at Burdicsl@alfredstate.edu for more details if you are interested in this fun, new opportunity.
Family of Derek Correa
Last Sunday morning, we were all shocked and saddened to learn of the four men with no known Alfred ties who were arrested for savagely assaulting one of our students. This short video by President Mauro provides an update regarding this senseless crime as we all rally in support, work together against any future violence, and care for one another. The family of the assailed student will provide updates on his condition on their fundraising GoFundMe page.
