In partnership with UPD, Criminal Justice Club, and Civic Engagement we have created a Day of Giving program to help all our students. This program will take place from 4/14-4/30. If you currently have an outstanding parking ticket you can drop off a minimum donation of $10 of non-perishable, not-expired food items or unopened, not expired hygiene items at the Criminal Justice Club suite 411 or Global Engagement and Civic Wellbeing suite 416 in the SLC during posted hours and provide the workers with your name and 800# for identification of your ticket. Donations can only be made to CJ Club, NOT at the University Police office. You can have ONE previously issued parking ticket dismissed. This will benefit the Community Needs Hub for students.

Facilities Alert Facilities Office Upcoming Site Work and Sidewalk Access Updates
We would like to inform the campus community about upcoming site work being performed by CATCO, starting the week of 4/21/2025, that may temporarily affect pedestrian and vehicular traffic in certain areas of campus. Please review the following updates:
- Sidewalk Closure Near PHS: CATCO construction just north of Physical & Health Sciences will temporarily close a sidewalk as marked with a red box on this map. All other nearby sidewalks will remain open, and PHS building entrances will be maintained. Flaggers will be present to ensure safe passage during intermittent closures. This work involves repairing a foundation wall crack to eliminate water intrusion in the building.
- Joint Sealer Installation: CATCO will also be applying joint sealer to newly installed sidewalk sections. While this work may create short, minor pedestrian detours, it is not expected to cause full sidewalk closures. Please note that this activity is weather-dependent.
- Grounds Restoration: It's time for our campus to spring to life with plants, trees, and grass sprouting! Restoration of areas disturbed during recent construction will impact pedestrian pathways and roads, requiring brief reroutes. Some equipment will be briefly staged on roadways; however, flaggers will be stationed to guide traffic and maintain safety. The final phase of this work includes hydroseeding to establish a healthy lawn in time for commencement.
We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation as we finish the infrastructure project to enhance our campus environment.
Community Garden - Community Service Opportunities
Would you be interested in some community service for Spring into Action Month? Projects will run at the Community Garden on Friday, April 11, 18, and 25 from 1 pm to 4 pm. Allegany County Needs YOUR help!
Allegany County needs YOUR help for their community health survey and as a student that attends ASC your opinion matters! The survey is quite important as it is only conducted every 6 years now and is used to assess the needs of our community members across the county. The responses that are collected from the survey guide programming and suggests what are necessary interventions, several community organizations, schools, parks, and even churches depend on the data from this survey to support grant writing. The last day to complete the survey is May 1st, 2025. The link to access the survey is: https://form.jotform.com/250014735668155
