'How to Overcome a Bad Day' Workshop - SSC
The Student Success Center will be hosting the How to Overcome a Bad Day Workshop on Tuesday, April 7th at 5pm in the Student Development Center, Room 109. Everyone has had one - a day that just does not go as planned. Sometimes we wake up and just feel off, or sometimes it feels everything we try to do goes wrong. This workshop will discuss options on how to overcome these days. Learn how to control your day, rather than be a victim of a bad day.
Find this workshop, future events and a collection of online workshops on a wide variety of topics available on our Student Success Center SharePoint.

We’re excited to share that proceeds from this year’s On The Block event will be donated to ACCORD: A Center for Dispute Resolution & Community Justice, a Community Action Agency located in Belmont. ACCORD plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families in our local community through programs that promote stability, self-sufficiency, and overall well-being.
We’re asking all students, faculty, and staff to help us give back by bringing:
- Spare change
- Unopened self-care items
- Canned goods
These donations will be used as “votes” for your favorite activities at the event, so the more you bring, the more you can support both your top picks and the community!
Don’t miss the dunk tank just $5 per turn and all proceeds from it will also go directly toward supporting ACCORD.
By attending On The Block, you’re not just showing up for a fun event you’re making a real impact right here in our community. Let’s come together to have fun, give back, and support a cause that truly matters.

🎓 Your Story, Pinned Forward
Your time at Alfred State is part of something bigger, rooted in a tradition that began in 1908 and carried forward by generations of students before you. As you prepare to graduate, a $19.08 senior gift, honoring our founding year, is a meaningful way to continue that legacy and support those who will follow in your footsteps.
In recognition of your gift, you’ll receive a Philanthropy Pin to wear at commencement, where it will be formally recognized in the official program. More than a symbol for one day, it represents your connection to Alfred State, your impact on its future, and your place in a tradition of giving that will continue long after you leave campus.
📌 Pin it forward. Wear it loud and proud, at commencement and always!
