Leadership Suite Applications Are Open

Do you belong to a club or organization actively involved in making a difference in the larger community? Are you solving problems, taking on opportunities, and using your passion and skills to help others? This could take the form of volunteerism, community service trips, public awareness campaigns, fundraising efforts, advocacy, and education.

If so, we invite you to view our Civic Engagement Pioneer page to submit a Leadership Suite proposal. Leadership Suites are designed to celebrate our clubs and organizations leading the way with civic action and help broaden visibility to get others involved in community-minded causes and initiatives locally, regionally, and/or globally.

Generally, there are 2-5 suites up for review each semester. Suite applications must be submitted by May 10th, 2026, to be considered for Fall 2026.

Your time at Alfred State is part of something bigger, rooted in a tradition that began in 1908 and carried forward by generations of students before you. As you prepare to graduate, a $19.08 senior gift, honoring our founding year, is a meaningful way to continue that legacy and support those who will follow in your footsteps.

More than a symbol for one day, it represents your connection to Alfred State, your impact on its future, and your place in a tradition of giving that will continue long after you leave campus.

📌 Pin it forward. Wear it loud and proud, at commencement and always!

Parking Updates for Students (Effective July 1)

To support a smooth start to the next academic year, Alfred State has updated its parking regulations that are effective July 1. These changes are designed to make student parking easier to understand, keep spaces available for those who are parked correctly, and promote safe, orderly traffic flow across campus.

What’s changing:

  • One unified student parking system: Student parking is fully integrated so it’s clearer where you can park and easier to find an open space.
  • Parking fine amounts increase by $5 (for example, a standard $25 ticket becomes $30). This update, after more than fifteen years of the former rate, aims to ensure there is some deterrence to parking in restricted areas.
  • Escalated fines for repeated violations in the same academic year (to address persistent non-compliance):
    • More than 5 tickets in academic year: each additional ticket is $50
    • More than 10 tickets in academic year: each additional ticket is $100
    • More than 20 tickets: parking privileges may be suspended or revoked (a last resort for a vehicle operator unwilling to alter behavior).

To be clear, the goal is not to issue more tickets — it’s to reduce them through greater compliance. Most students will never encounter escalated fines by parking in designated areas and following posted signage. The changes will impact those who ignore the regulations.  Please visit this Q&A for more details on where students may park and how enforcement works.
