Student Announce April 16, 2026

Mobile Learning Lab on Campus

Friday April 17th, the Mobile Learning Lab will be on campus. You will find it parked between SLC and CDH. We invite faculty, staff and students to stop by and engage in a Random Acts of Kindness activity based on the Book, How Full is your Bucket from Gallup, Tom Rath and Don Clifton. Being a bucket filler is about being surprisingly kind. Anyone can fill buckets by recognizing when others have been helpful or have done outstanding work. This positive energy can lead to an entire shift in culture, where everyone is noticing and recognizing quality efforts. We often think positive recognition comes only from supervisors, managers, or teachers but Gallup has found that people cherish praise and recognition from peers. The environment you create significantly affects the entire culture of recognition, praise, and achievement. Recognition is everyone’s responsibility. And better, more frequent recognition happens when more people are empowered to do the recognizing. We hope you’ll join us to create a drop to fill someone’s bucket!

Proceeds from shirt sales will support purchases of Fruit Trees for our Arbor Day events in the future. Last year we were able to plant three apple trees at Alfred States Community Garden and this Arbor Day, we will be planting two plum trees!

Help us plant roots for the future through the purchase of these shirts and mark Arbor Day (April 24th) on your calendars so you can join us for our tree planting ceremony and garden party on Friday, April 24th from 1-3pm

In addition, if you are looking for a way to volunteer in lead up to the event, we are seeking volunteers for Friday, April 17th from 1-3pm to help get the garden spring ready.  If you are interested in volunteering or learning more please contact our Community Garden Coordinator, Tom Kacalski (KacalsTD@alfredstate.edu)

🎓 Your Story, Pinned Forward

Your time at Alfred State is part of something bigger, rooted in a tradition that began in 1908 and carried forward by generations of students before you. As you prepare to graduate, a $19.08 senior gift, honoring our founding year, is a meaningful way to continue that legacy and support those who will follow in your footsteps.

In recognition of your gift, you’ll receive a Philanthropy Pin to wear at commencement, where it will be formally recognized in the official program. More than a symbol for one day, it represents your connection to Alfred State, your impact on its future, and your place in a tradition of giving that will continue long after you leave campus.

📌 Pin it forward. Wear it loud and proud, at commencement and always!
👉 ORDER HERE!

Stay connected beyond graduation, join the Alfred State Alumni Facebook page and continue being part of the Pioneer community.
