Open House Parking Lot Closures 3/20 - University Police
Student parking lots 3 (by SLC), 19, 20, 20A and 22 (near Pioneer Stadium/Orvis) and Faculty/Staff parking lots 3 (near SLC) & 21 (near Orvis) will be closed Friday March 20th beginning at 4pm through the completion of the Open House on Sunday afternoon. If you are traveling and leaving a vehicle on campus for the weekend please make sure that it is moved out of the closed lots before you leave. Students may park in any other open lots over the weekend, but must be back in the appropriate student parking before Monday morning at 7am.
Vehicles that remain in closed parking lots or re-enter after the closing time are subject to enforcement up to and including towing at the owners expense.

Alfred State College is committed to continuously improving the student experience—from academics and support programs to campus facilities and beyond. Student feedback plays a vital role in identifying what is working well and where we can do better.
As part of this effort, Alfred State will participate in the 2026 SUNY Student Satisfaction Survey (SSS). On Sunday, March 22, you will receive an email from survey@suny.edu with a link to the survey.

'Effort is Everything' Workshop - SSC
The Student Success Center will be hosting the Effort is Everything Workshop on Tuesday, March 24th at 5pm in the Student Development Center, Room 109. “E is for EFFORT” is a phrase most of us have grown up hearing but what does that really mean? Join us for a workshop on the value of effort and the role it plays in helping students achieve academic success.

Learn how YOU can enroll in either the BBA, Tech Management or BTech Construction Supervision Programs. Easy application. No hassle. No worries!
Stay For 4 - Submit Your Application In Time to Register For Fall Classes!
Students who plan to graduate this May from an associate degree or certificate program and wish to continue their education at Alfred State College in a corresponding baccalaureate or associate degree program must complete a SUNY Joint Admissions/Intent to Enroll Form. This also applies to graduates interested in pursuing the Technology Management or Interdisciplinary Studies baccalaureate degree programs.
Completed forms should be submitted to the Admissions Office as soon as possible. Please note that there is no application fee for students continuing from an associate degree or certificate into a corresponding program.
To help answer questions, Advising will host a table outside The Terrace from March 30–April 2, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Stop by for assistance or more information.
Fall semester registration begins April 6, so be sure to complete your form early and stay on track.

Selecting your Room!
Room selection will begin March 24, 2026 and will be released based on completed credit hours as follows:
Tuesday, March 24 – 90+ Credit Hours Completed
Wednesday, March 25- 60+ credit hours completed
Thursday, March 26- 30+ credit hours completed
Friday, March 27- 29 or less credit hours completed
You will need to have your housing application completed in order to select your room!
Selecting your room instructions:
- Log into your my.alfredstate.edu
- Click on the Choose Housing & Dining Plans on the Housing & Dining Services card under the Student Life
- Return to "Housing Overview"
- Select the green "Browse Rooms"
- Search for specific rooms by building/section and/or other residence preferences set up. This may take a couple of attempts depending on your preferences and room availability. "No Bed Available" will appear if there is not a room available for the preferences you set up.
- Click the "Select" button to select your room of choice.
- Dialog window will be prompted with details of the selected room.
- Review the details of your room reservation. Click on "Confirm reservation" to confirm your assignment. Click the "Browse Other Rooms" link to browse other rooms.

Group Therapy at Health and Wellness
Health & Wellness Services has 3 5-week Group Therapy Sessions still looking for students beginning the first week in April. Each group is limited to 8 students, so first come first serve.
Group Therapy Topics:
- MINDFULNESS FOR COLLEGE LIFE - Feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or disconnected?
- Through guided meditations, gentle discussions, and practical mindfulness exercises, participants learn to reduce stress, increase focus, and build emotional resilience. This group offers a supportive space for connection, reflection, and self-care.
- MUSIC THERAPY
- Music Therapy Group will use music to help reduce anxiety and depression, regulate mood, ease stress, and improve social skills and self-confidence. All students are welcome, regardless of skill level or background.
- PROBLEM-SOLVING
- A structured, therapeutic group designed to help participants build practical skills for managing everyday challenges, stressors, and interpersonal difficulties. Through guided discussion, skill-building exercises, and real-life examples, members learn how to identify problems clearly, generate possible solutions, weigh pros and cons, and create actionable plans.

Take a break, sit quietly, and create a piece of artwork, poem, story, or whatever and send to Ergo, Alfred State’s literary magazine, at Ergo@alfredstate.edu. Become part of the Ergo Committee by attending the 1st meeting on Monday, Feb. 9, at 3:30 p.m. in the SDC Faculty Lounge (Rm. 242).
