Jamie Stuart is in the Cheer for a Peer Spotlight this month. 

Jamie generously shared his time and knowledge with our Civil Engineering Technology students. The real-world demonstrations of heating plants, boilers, AHUs, pumps, piping systems, and fans provided invaluable hands-on learning. The Mechanical Systems class truly appreciated this opportunity to connect classroom theory with practical experience.

Help our students kick off finals week by serving them Midnight Breakfast and sending them well wishes on Sunday, May 4 from 10PM-12AM in the Terrace, CDH. 

Our continued revival of Midnight Breakfast has been a huge success, with over 300 students in attendance each semester! In order to keep that energy and make it special for the students, ACES & Student Engagement need YOUR help. This is also a perfect opportunity to connect with our students outside of the classroom and office. Volunteer to serve breakfast and mingle by submitting this form by Friday, May 2. This breakfast is meant to help our students relax from the stress of their finals!

Join us as we recognize and celebrate the contributions of our campus community. We will have dinner, performances by some of our clubs & organizations, music, and an evening to celebrate the memories of the 2024-2025 academic year.

If you are a resident of Allegany County, they need YOUR help for their community health survey (also any student that attends ASC can complete the survey as well)! The survey is quite important as it is only conducted every 6 years now and is used to assess the needs of our community members across the county. The responses that are collected from the survey guide programming and suggests what are necessary interventions, several community organizations, schools, parks, and even churches depend on the data from this survey to support grant writing. A group of Nursing students are heading to Ireland this summer. The group is hosting a Stearn's Chicken BBQ fundraiser on April 22.

The last day to order is tomorrow (deadline was extended).

For $15 you receive a half chicken, two sides, and a roll with butter.

Pickup is in the Physical and Life Sciences Building between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The Office of Student Engagement will be selling Hot Dog Day T-Shirts this week in the Student Leadership Center in front of SLC 204 during the times listed below. The cost of the shirts is $20 (cash only) and it all goes to the local charities that Hot Dog Day supports! We will also be selling them the day of Spring Carnival, 4/26, from 1-5 p.m. in SLC lot #3.

The Office of Student Engagement is excited to welcome our Future Pioneers to campus on the following dates to participate in our Summer 2025 Orientation sessions. The New Student Orientation sessions include School of Study sessions as well as a general session.

Katie Carr is in the Cheer for a Peer Spotlight this month. 

Katie was instrumental in supporting the Career Development Center during our recent Spring Career Fair at the Alfred Campus. She warmly greeted several employers, escorted them to their tables, and assisted incoming students in connecting with employer representatives. Katie's professionalism and helpfulness were greatly appreciated.

One winner will be highlighted for their work the first Friday of the month.

Print and Mail Services is pleased to announce that Rain Middendorf has taken the temporary role of OA1 Stores/Mail in the mailroom. 

Rain is a senior at Alfred State, majoring in Technology Management, and is originally from Long Island.  

In her position at PAMS, she will be processing mail and packages, delivering mail throughout campus, helping work-study students, and working on finishing projects produced in the print shop. 

Be sure to say hi when she delivers your mail!

Alfred State Dance Team presents our SPRING SHOWCASE on Saturday, March 29th in Orvis Auditorium! Seating begins at 6:00 pm and the Performance starts at 6:15 pm. At our Intermission, refreshments will be provided by ACES including cookies, brownies, and sweet iced tea. Purchase tickets at the door. Cash Only! Join us in supporting Della Warner and her family after a recent house fire. The Culinary Department is hosting a BBQ Pulled Pork Drive-Thru Dinner on March 27, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Wellsville Campus.

• Dinner includes a pulled pork sandwich, macaroni & cheese, coleslaw, and a cookie.
• No pre-sale – first come, first served!
• Cost: $10.00 (CASH ONLY).
• A bake sale table will also be available with cookies, brownies, and pies (CASH ONLY)

He  is credited for provided invaluable insight to Sport Management students in a facility design course.
