Sophomore Career Day on Campus
Tuesday October 6th Alfred State College will be hosting the 40th Annual Sophomore Career Day in partnership with Steuben County's Career Development Council. While I hope that everyone is enjoying their time off campus during mini-break, please take note that this event is taking place in Orvis and EJ Brown if you are here this day. Sophomore Career Day will bring over 500 guests to campus from 9 different school districts across Steuben County.

Health and Wellness Services: Office Closed for Mini Break
Health and Wellness Services will be closed Monday October 5th and Tuesday October 6th for Mini Break.
As always, call 911 in the event of an emergency. An on-campus after-hours contact is University Police at 607-587-3999. Otherwise, options for off campus healthcare include the following options:
• Urgent Care: (Check Hospital Sites for closures before going)
o St. James Urgent Care in Hornell (open 10:00AM-8:00PM daily)
o Jones Memorial Urgent Care in Wellsville (open 11:00AM-7:00PM daily)
• Emergency Room:
o Jones Memorial Hospital (Wellsville)
o St. James Hospital (Hornell)
Action Required: Apply to Graduate
All students completing degree requirements this semester must apply to graduate.
Diplomas are NOT automatically awarded.

You should also:
- Contact your academic department to confirm all graduation requirements are met
- Review your degree progress in DegreeWorks
Deadline
October 5, 2026
(This deadline is required to receive a December 2026 diploma.)
Important reminders:
- There is no fee to apply
- Students who plan to attend commencement will need to pay a fee
- Do NOT apply for May 2027 graduation at this time
- Students graduating in December who plan to return in the spring in a new program must apply for readmission through the Admissions Office
➜ Registration is not allowed until readmission is approved
