New Carnegie Honors Prove Alfred State is #1
Alfred State is a leader among US public schools. We’re honored to be recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for both “Applied and Career Studies” and “Opportunity Colleges and Universities: Higher Access & Higher Earnings.”
An analysis of qualifying colleges and universities found that ASC ranked number one in access, graduate earnings, and support for low-income students, while offering a choice of both bachelor’s and associate degrees.

Seeking Student Ambassador Recommendations
Dear Faculty and Staff,
We’re currently in the process of building a strong and dynamic team of student ambassadors for the Alfred State Admissions Office—and we’d love your input.
If you know any students who stand out as charismatic, hardworking, loyal, and passionate about Alfred State, please consider sending their names my way. We’re looking for individuals who not only represent the spirit of A-State but who can also confidently and authentically share that enthusiasm with prospective students and their families. As part of the Student Ambassador Program, students can serve as either Student Tour Guides or Student Callers.
Ideal candidates should be dependable, personable, and proud to be part of the Alfred State community. Your insight and recommendations will be incredibly valuable in helping us identify students who embody these qualities.
Please feel free to email me directly with your suggestions (padlom@alfredstate.edu). Thank you in advance for your support in helping us build an exceptional team!
Best regards,
Mike Padlo

2025/2026 Holiday Pay Waiver for Classified Employees
The collective bargaining agreements between the State and CSEA, Council 82, M/C (Grade 22 and below), DC-37, NYSCOPBA, PBANYS, and PEF, allow employees to waive holiday compensation.
Consequently, between April 2 and May 15, 2025, employees may elect to change their holiday waiver, in writing, using the Holiday Waiver form found on our website, under Human Resources under Benefits box Waiver of Holiday Compensation Election Form. This form must be on file if you elect to waive holiday pay and choose to receive instead compensatory time off for holidays worked. The waiver will remain in effect until at least April 1, 2026. Employees may also elect to revoke any waiver of holiday compensation now in effect by filing this same form. If you wish to keep your current holiday pay or waiver status, you do not need to submit an updated form.
Please forward completed forms to Amber Adams, in Human Resources, no later than May 15, 2025.
