Seeking Student Ambassador Recommendations

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We’re currently in the process of building a strong and dynamic team of student ambassadors for the Alfred State Admissions Office—and we’d love your input.

If you know any students who stand out as charismatic, hardworking, loyal, and passionate about Alfred State, please consider sending their names my way. We’re looking for individuals who not only represent the spirit of A-State but who can also confidently and authentically share that enthusiasm with prospective students and their families. As part of the Student Ambassador Program, students can serve as either Student Tour Guides or Student Callers.

Ideal candidates should be dependable, personable, and proud to be part of the Alfred State community. Your insight and recommendations will be incredibly valuable in helping us identify students who embody these qualities.

Please feel free to email me directly with your suggestions (padlom@alfredstate.edu). Thank you in advance for your support in helping us build an exceptional team!

Best regards,
Mike Padlo

Bulk order for table banners

If you attended a recent Open House or Admitted Student Day, you may have seen our eye-catching new table banners featuring Big Blue. The Admissions Office is planning to place another order soon — if you’re using an older banner and would like a fresh new look, reach out to Stephanie LaFever at lafevesm@alfredstate.edu by Friday, May 23 in order to join our bulk order.

Final pricing will depend on the total quantity ordered — the more we order, the lower the cost per piece.

Concluding your journey at Alfred State? Update your Voter Registration Information

The Center for Civic Leadership offers big congratulations to our soon to be graduates and wants to remind any who are concluding their journey with Alfred State to double check your voter registration status and make sure you update it to properly reflect where you wish to be registered to vote. As a reminder, we have  Voter Registration  resources available to all students in your portal. If you are not sure if you are registered to vote, you can also use our online resources to Check your Registration Status, Research your Ballot, or Find your Polling Place.  People tend to pay attention to national elections and forget about what is happening on a local level. We encourage all you eligible voters, to get registered and stay engaged in your local communities.

To all students, we wish you a safe, enjoyable, and fulfilling summer!

UUP Elections Update - Leadership Results

UUP Local chapter election results have been certified and posted.  On behalf of the Alfred chapter, our executive board appreciates everyone who put their name in the hat to help!  We will welcome all new leaders soon, but you can find results for all chapters here:

https://uupinfo.org/elections/

Bylaws ballots have also been sent out to members, for the purpose of approving the proposed chapter bylaws changes.  The effort was undertaken to "do what we say and say what we do" so that bylaws would more accurately reflect current obligations of our chapter leadership.  Feel free to ask questions of any UUP leader, but remember that you can also find information at:

https://uuphost.org/alfred/bylaws/

Only UUP MEMBERS may take part in chapter elections and votes.  UUP membership makes good things happen! A higher proportion of membership adds to our negotiating leverage for improving our work lives and benefitting SUNY as a whole. Membership is NOT automatic; check your pay stub and if you’re not already a member, you can sign up at http://uupinfo.org/join
