New Internal Posting - Procurement

SUNY Alfred State College of Technology seeks a Director of Procurement. As a member of the Business Affairs Division, the Director of Procurement will oversee all departmental functions, including the purchasing of goods and services, travel and accounts payable. Goods and services are procured with the highest ethical standards in accordance with college, SUNY, and New York State policies and regulations.

The successful candidate will engage in continuous process improvement, education of the college community, savings and quality initiatives, reporting to college administration, support for budget analyses, and data-informed improvements. The Director of Procurement reports directly to the Controller.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance,  Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field, at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, sourcing, finance, or vendor management, equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered; experience with competitive bidding (RFI, RFP, RFQ), vendor selection, vendor risk assessment, and/or contract management, supervisory/management experience with a diverse team, and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Allegany County Fair Volunteer NEEDED!

The Allegany County Fair is quickly approaching, and we are in NEED of TWO Volunteers for Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 3-7pm

This year, instead of hosting a traditional Alfred State booth, we are transitioning to our Mobile Learning Lab, which will serve as our primary outreach and engagement space at the fair. The Mobile Learning Lab provides an exciting opportunity to showcase Alfred State's innovative programs, connect with prospective students and families, and engage with community members in a dynamic and interactive environment.

We are seeking faculty and staff volunteers who are interested in spending time in the Mobile Learning Lab, greeting visitors, sharing information about Alfred State, and helping create a welcoming experience for fair attendees.

Fall 2026 B140 Tuition Waiver Application

The SUNY B-140 Tuition Assistance Program provides partial tuition waivers for career-related, credit-bearing SUNY courses.

  • Eligibility: Must be employed at least six months and on payroll for the entire course.
  • Bargaining Unit Benefits: If you have a unit-specific tuition benefit, you must use it first before applying for the B-140.
  • Course Limit: Only covers a second course per semester/summer session.
  • Waiver Amount: Depends on available funds and application volume.

Application Priority:

  1. Courses related to your job at Alfred State
  2. Courses that support a degree related to the College mission
  3. Courses for personal development

Coverage:

  • Alfred State Courses: Up to 100% tuition funded.
  • Other SUNY Campuses: Up to 50% tuition funded.
  • Fees: Employees pay all non-tuition fees.

Part-Time Employees:

  • Half-Time or More: Same benefits as full-time employees.
  • Less Than Half-Time: 50% of full-time benefit.
