Summer Faculty Portfolio Workshop Series
The Faculty Portfolio Workshop Series is a five-session, remote workshop series designed specifically to support faculty through the portfolio building process. Feel free to join them all or just ones that fit your schedule. Each session is 50 minutes and will be held via Teams. Sessions are designed to meet you where you are in the process and help you build a portfolio that reflects your work.
All sessions will be held on Wednesdays at noon at the Teams link.
Here is what we will cover across the five sessions:
July 8 Session 1: Portfolio Foundations — Understanding the SUNY criteria, the three-year checkpoint, and how to organize your portfolio
July 15 Session 2: Teaching & Learning — Gathering evidence of student feedback and demonstrating how you have grown as a teacher
July 22 Session 3: Service & Community Engagement — Articulating your contributions across all levels
July 29 Session 4: Scholarship & Continuing Growth — Framing your professional development for impact
August 5 Session 5: Finalizing & Demystifying the Process — Polishing your portfolio and understanding submission
This series is a space to ask questions, share challenges, and get practical guidance. No matter where you are in your journey, these sessions are for you! Email Danyelle O'Brien at obriend@alfredstate.edu if you would like to be sent a direct invite for the sessions.
Volunteers Needed for the Allegany County Fair 2026
The Allegany County Fair is quickly approaching, and we are looking for volunteers to help represent Alfred State throughout the week of July 20-25.
This year, instead of hosting a traditional Alfred State booth, we are transitioning to our Mobile Learning Lab, which will serve as our primary outreach and engagement space at the fair. The Mobile Learning Lab provides an exciting opportunity to showcase Alfred State's innovative programs, connect with prospective students and families, and engage with community members in a dynamic and interactive environment.
We are seeking faculty and staff volunteers who are interested in spending time in the Mobile Learning Lab, greeting visitors, sharing information about Alfred State, and helping create a welcoming experience for fair attendees.
if interested in volunteering this year please fill out this Form which will show days and times available.
Thank you for helping Alfred State make a strong impact at the Allegany County Fair. We appreciate your support and look forward to showcasing the college through our new Mobile Learning Lab experience.
For any questions, please reach out donovatl@alfredstate.edu or Ext 4010.
SLC Park Space Video Wall Out of Service
Please note that the video wall located in the Student Leadership Center (SLC) Park Space is currently out of service.
We are actively evaluating the issue and investigating potential solutions; however, due to the nature of the failure and age of the system, restoration may take a while. Given this, at this time, we do not have an estimated timeline for restoration. If your planned event in the Park Space requires use of the video wall, please contact Instructional Technologies to discuss a potential alternative prior to scheduling your event, or refrain from scheduling the space. Events that do not depend on the video wall can continue as planned.
Updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
We appreciate your patience while we work toward a resolution.
