UUP Organizing This Week: Visits to UUP Represented Employees

This week, UUP's organizer Danielle Judge will be visiting UUP employees on campus and at home March 12 and 13.  She is assigned to our campus by the statewide office to help us with having educational conversations and signing up new members represented by UUP (faculty and professional staff).  Don't be surprised if she and our local UUP representatives drop by to say hi and help you know more about what being a member of United University Professions does for you, Alfred State, SUNY, and the world!

UUP MEMBERS MAKE SUNY WORK. A higher proportion of membership adds to our negotiating leverage for improving our work lives and benefitting SUNY as a whole. Membership is NOT automatic; check your pay stub and if you’re not already a member, you can sign up at http://uupinfo.org/join

Know Your Rights

What do you do when they come for you?!  Counseling?  Discipline? What are your rights in these, and other situations related to actions taken by the college? This workshop will provide valuable information to UUP members regarding counseling vs. discipline, what rights you have in each situation, and other items to be aware of if you face these situations during your employment.    Our NYSUT Labor Relations Specialist, Jamie Guilian, will be sharing her expertise and insights at this workshop.

Registration for each attendee helps us plan and closes at 4:00 PM on Monday March 17, 2025.  Email Chapter Assistant Elaine (Burns) Ryan at BurnsEM@alfredstate.edu and reserve your spot. On the day of the workshop, a TEAMS link for REMOTE access to the workshop will be sent to you.  This workshop is open to UUP members only.  Check your pay stub; if you have not yet joined UUP, you can become a member by filling out the online membership form at http://www.uupinfo.org/join
